I wear my hair down and sometimes i will run my fingers through it and push it back. Every time i do this my fingers get caught in knots. How can i keep my hair untangled without brushing it every second of the day?

My hair gets tangled very easily too, what I've been doing and has been working pretty well, is use some kind of detangler. I've been alternating between vo5 detangle and shine, and hydra-TLC styling creme. My hair isn't completely knot free, but now i can run my fingers trough it a LOT more easily, before i couldn't undo the knots with just my fingers, and it led to a lot of breakage.

well make sure you are using a good conditioner for one. i have a friend whos hair is exactly the same way, it never looks like it was brushed, but she uses a gel/serum for shine in her hair and i'm pretty sure thats the reason for the knots. if you use any product in your hair maybe you should try to go a day without it and see if that helps.
