About 3 years ago I had a business trip to the states. It was great fun! As I got on the plane home I looked at the stewerdess, she looked at me, we both smiled and I said "hi", she asked if I knew where I was going, I said yes, walked the wrong way and on the way back she showed me to my seat. We chatted a lot throughout the 11 hour flight back to Europe. Exchanged email addresses and mailed. This was just before the Christmas break 2003. During the break, while I was back in England I heard Britneys "toxic" on the ´radio, just had to buy it. (I didn't know then how relevant the video for that song was!)
I got back to Germany and got in touch with her and we went out for our first date....exactly 3 years ago today.....
It was the most precious of all my relationships, sadly over now.
Still - to answer your question: Yes I do believe, no its not an illusion, but it takes more than that to make it last.
Brilliant and unforgetable tho......

This is going to sound very cliched but when I first saw my fiancee it was love at first sight. It was odd, I couldn't focus on anything else in the room except for her, it was like an aura was around her and I just couldn't take my eyes off her. I knew from that moment that she was the one. I've been with her for 5 years now and we're getting married in December this year.

I don't believe in love at first sight. I believe in a thing called lust at first sight, but I don't think it's possible to love someone the first time you set eyes on them.

Yes and no
I knew on our first date that my husband was the man that I would be with forever. I didn't start feeling love for him for a couple weeks, but there was definitely a soul mate connection when we first met. It didn't have anything to do with his appearance it was more a sense or a feeling of deep comfort.

No, I don' believe in love at first sight. Simply because the eyes are deceptive...what needs to see is your heart when finding love...

I don't know if it is at first sight, but certainly one can fall in love quickly, if it is meant to be.
It happened to me. When I met the lady who would later become my wife, I knew within hours that she was the one for me.

No, that's just a fallacy. You cannot know a person by looking at them, and you need to know a person deeply and intimately to love them...and that takes time.
