I have a 96 Mustang GT Convertable which is used for my 100 mile round trip to/from work. It has accumulated close to 110,000 miles and in the past year has been high maintenance. I installed a new roof; new brakes; new clutch; new struts;new rotors; new callipars;new exhaust manifold; tires; and alignment. It seems that each month, I invest an average of at least $300 into this piece of sh*t and I'm considering trading it in for a more economical car. Thanks in advance for honest feedback.

Either sell it private party or keep it and turn it in to a 10 second car but DONT trade it in unless you want to get screwed since the year and the miles they will probaly only offer you 2500 at most probaly less since they will say that they cant sell it for too much when they will turn around and put a price of 6-7 grand on it so go to kbb.com and find out what its worth if u want to sell it and post it remember even though you just dumped like 500 in or more you wont get it back

Since the miles you drive per day is high you will incur these costs in most of the cars.

since you are used to a car as old as 96 buy an japanese car preferably a honda around the year 96.
the costs you invested like the rotors tires and alignment might half the current frequency of repair.

but the the struts (roof**) exhaust manifold shouldn't create problems so early.

so i would suggest go for a japanese car a one which has less miles.

and just get rid of that car sell it or trade it, certain factors like battery , engine oil leaks, rust etc will be a problem in case you want to keep it as a weekend vehicle

If you like the car, keep it. I had a Mercury Sable with 300K mi. and never had to get into the engine. I did change the oil every 3K. I wouldn't trade it in though. Try and sell it yourself either through a friend or something like E-Bay.
Think about buying a focus or something for work. Try and find a used one only a year old with low miles, maybe from a rental agency. You know the maintenance has been done.
Your insurance will lower on the Stang if used for pleasure.

It's more of a hot rod, than a daily driver, there are plenty of Mustangs around, buy one for fun, and drive a Taurus to work.

since you already invested alot of money into, I would make it my secondary car and buy another one-not necessarily a mustang-either new or used for your commute. If that is not feasable, try to sell it. I sure there are alot of people that would love to own it.
