I'd like to be placed on a giant pinwheel and spun around while bottle rockets shoot from my eyes. Then I would like to be stripped naked and frozen into a block of ice, then cast into the waters around Antarctica for future scientists to discover in 5,000 years.

That's a really good question.
I want to be cremated for sure. I don't like the idea of anyone hanging around my grave trying to talk to me, or feeling guilty because they haven't visited the grave, or anything like that. When I die, I don't want people feeling obligated or believing that I'm still around anywhere.
On the ashes, if they're going to sit on some shelf or something...if my kids are going to talk to an urn, pack "Mom" in a box when they move, ugh. That's too stupid and morbid.
I'd like the funeral home put the ashes where they belong...in the garbage. I have no "soul" to be scattered into the wind, I am not superstitious, so it's not like I'll be in the ashes or going anywhere with them.
My family will grieve when I'm gone. I don't want them dealing with a bunch of crap, a depressing memorial service, stuff like that. I will leave things for them to keep and look at, letters and things, and I hope that going through my stuff will help them work through it.

As for me; I would prefer to not have one, but to be able to the Lord and His host coming out of the clouds, w/ His blazing glory. But, if that is not the way He wants it, then i would like a plain coffin, a poem read that I have written, and for no one to tell that ole' lie-that Now I'm in heaven, looking down on everyone. Because I know what the Bible says about the death. I would like some balloons sent into the air those at the cemetery as I'm being lowered into sheol.

I'm an Ásatrúar so I would want a funeral keeping in line with my beliefs. (Which in case you did not know, is what you just described.) ;-)
Here's a little poem for you!
Well the Christians, they have their heaven, and the Buddhists their nirvana,
Well the atheists haven't the foggiest, and the Jews await their Messiah,
Lesser mortals have their own fate, but there's one thing I know above all,
That some day, if I die my death, I will see that great drinking hall.

Bizarr099, you are awesome!
i can't beat that. But i would like my cremated ashes to be turned into a diamond, so i guess i couldn't really be on the water.
i wish i could give you 10 points.
but really, I'll be dead. I kinda wanted bright colors and dancing girls, but i figured, funerals are for the living, so if they want sappy depressing dirges, they can go right ahead

That sounds very lovely. No one should object to such a thing. I want to be buried in white with white flowers everywhere because death is just a part of the cycle of life.

Valhalla, how sophisticated. For what my death will be, I just want to be wrapped in a piece of cloth and buried under a tree or cremated. I don't see how I could care then anyway.

After I'm dead, perferably.
Cremated, nice mass, my ashes spread over the sea near Burmuda. I like to travel and one good huricane will ensure that.
