Your problem is that you drive a FORD! and guess what? FORD SUCKS!!! prepare yourself for a very expensive maintenance bill. That's the price you pay for buying an American Car. Nothing FORD is good unless.....it's an SUV.

What kind of car, If its an Escape the coolant has the be a little bit higher than the real high level. If it's something else and its full of coolant the float is stuck, if you don won't to spend money just unplug the sensor on the jug.

Probably the "coolant low" sending unit is bad or gummed up. If you recently had a coolant loss, then you may have a vapour lock in the area of the sending unit. A relativley inexpensive repair forthe sending unit. As long as the coolant is up to level, you can ignore the warning and safely drive the vehicle.
Hope that helps.

There may be a problem with coolant circulation or the sender unit which activates the light. This light will have to be checked by the dealer or an authorized mechanic if your car is still on warranty.

My 2000 Taurus low coolant light comes on all the time too and I know the level sensor in the overflow bottle is the problem. I don't bother to fix it because I've checked the actual radiator level when the engine's cold and know it's full.

Coolant level sensor is stuck or out of range. If the sensor is in the expansion tank gently tap the side of the tank with a screw drive to see if this works . If not you may have to replace the sensor. Where are you checking the level in the tank or in the rad ? Some Fords use a sensor in the rad so expansion tank could be full while rad is low.If in the rad and rad is full try same as above if no worky try new sensor. Good luck hope I helped

Take it to a mechanic that can scan it. It may be a faulty sensor or the coolant is not circulating properly for some reason.

My Taurus has this same problem. The coolant level sender commonly fails and the only way to fix it is to replace the degasser tank because the tank and sender is all in one piece. Its only about $30 on E-bay.
