who came up with the whole idea of school?

It started out with apprenticeships a very long time ago, just about when craftsmanship and trade was invented. Then there were rich people whose children did not have to work, so they needed something to do all day. So they learned writing and stuff, like the scribes had been apprenticed to do. (Note that this practice started at LEAST 2500 years ago.)
