When speaking of past human events we have seen one religion give way to another. Roman gods died at the hands of one god as did thousands of beliefs. People create religions if or if not the God exists. Thor, Poseidon, Athena, the sun god and the god of the underworld. It's not like they really existed it's that they were once believed in as strongly as Yahweh.
What kills a god is being forgot.
The only way to forget them is to find a replacement or kill the believers. Islam Catholicism and Christianity have done it for centuries. One sure way is the death of the believers
I realize this question seems simple , but it's not.
Civilization has collapsed several times over religion.
Are we people doomed by beliefs that bring us joy?
Are we doomed to repeat lessons of the past because we are too proud or too apathetic to remember lessons taught?
The reason for the dark ages was religion
The end of nations and deaths of millions was caused by religions.
I would hate to think that the end of mankind will be brought on by religions. But at this time in human existence I see no other path.

Religion and Humanity are locked in a pattern of mutually assured destruction. So they will expire at about the same time.

i don't think neither will expire as humans will continue to procreate and religion will continue on as there will always be people who feel the need for religion anyway in time there might be more atheists and agnostics then there are now

Humanity probably. I believe there will always be religion in a form or another, it is a human need. At least for some persons, if not for everyone.

Wait, thats a trick question. You can't have religion without the people who created it. Otherwise, who will worship when humanity is nonexistent?
They'd die off at the same time.

NEITHER.
The goal of a Christan is to expire based on his beliefs.

Jesus is the truth, the way and the life!

"Hear O Israel, the Lord is our God, the Lord is One"

(Shema Yisrael Adonai eloheinu Adonai ehad)

Religion. In many parts of the world such as western Europe it's already well on the road to expiry and humanity is managing fine without it.

both will die together ... we are told this world will be destroyed. Once that takes place both humanity and religion will be destroyed.

In God's kingdom there will be NO religion.
