I didn't know that Dinosaurs were a Lutheran issue. Hmmmm, must have missed that in Catechism class. What Synod (see we call them Synods not Sects) is your friend?

It sounds like you or your friend have something confused. Lutherans believe the Bible is accurate. The Bible does mention dinosaurs though it never actually uses the word “dinosaur.” Instead, it uses the Hebrew word tanniyn (pronounced tan-neen; Strong’s #08577). Tanniyn is translated a few different ways in our English Bibles; sometimes it’s “sea monster,” sometimes it’s “serpent.” It is most commonly translated “dragon.” The tanniyn appear to have been some sort of giant reptile. These creatures are mentioned nearly thirty times in the Old Testament and are found both on land and in the water.

Religions, sects....all destroy what God intended for us. All we need to do is read the bible. Rules, regulations, views, all are man invented. I do believe there were dinosaurs on earth. I also believe, that God created them. Just because there is no mention of them in the bible, doesn't make them non existent. WE see many insects and animals, still on earth, who are not mentioned in the bible, that's because the bible addresses the human and gives him the answers for life. It says, God created all things. God did not find it necessary to explain about the animal world, because that would not help me much, would it?
If your friend believes that there were no dinosaurs, don't criticize him. All you could do is tell him that God created all things, big and small. Corinthians1: 16 "For by Him all things were created that are in heaven and that are on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions, or principalities or powers. All things were created through Him and for Him." The word ALL is the answer.

Since Dinosaurs no longer exist, and by their bones we know they once did, who really cares? My grandfather believed as did a lot of other people that the tomato was poison and would never eat one, but so what, he just deprived himself of never eating a pizza. His belief was his own which he had a right to. Please stop trying to get everyone to conform to issues that are personal. Just understand that your friend, if he ever goes into a museum that has a skeleton of a dinosaur on display may have to praise immagination but not God.
