I worship at the altar of mince pies, and especially those with cherries and brandy inside. Try them with brandy butter. Alliluyah baby!
With your first mp you know that Christmas is here, and it's time for the Magic Season.
You know, before I finally snuff it, I'm asking the undertaker to place mince pies in the box surrounded by Turkish delights and six huge bottles of Chilean red wine.

We never had mince pies when I was growing up. It was just not part of our family's tradition.

A GF first gave me one when I was in my 20's. She bought them from the British Import Market (I live in California near San Francisco) then made a traditional rum frosting. It was great!

I do not like raisins but I love mince pies and mince filling. I even sometimes use mince instead of jam in PB and J sandwiches. Add a spoonful to apple sauce to jazz it up instead of just cinnamon and sugar. Yum!

This year for Christmas I made “trifle” for the first time. It was another traditional dessert that I had only tried recently and decided I really liked.

Just goes to show you that “traditional” is very, very relative!
