Has anyone's kids used these and gotten the black ink on the carpet? I need to know what will work to get the ink stain out, and also what type of punishment my child deserves for making the mess?

My daughter played with these against my rules. She was told only to use them with help from myself. This is why she needs to be punished. She broke my rule.

She also knows there are to be used at the kitchen table...NOT on the carpet. Another broken rule.

Use a product called Tuff Stuff by Simoniz. It takes just about anything out. Or you could use the Oxy stuff for rugs. Now as far as punishing the little one, was it an accident or was he/she told not to color on the rug? If it was the latter, make he/she clean it up. Yelling or hitting gets nowhere with a kid because they will grow up later in life thinking that you are not allowed to make mistakes. Making the punishment fit the crime, will make them think about making a better decision next time.

Try Mr. Clean Magic Eraser or OxyClean. If you let him have it on the carpet and not sitting at a table with newspapers under him then no punishment is necessary. Accidents will happen. and There will be many more accidents. Give the kid a break.

Try oxyclean or tuff stuff car cleaner. Its probably too late to punish your child now but when my kids make a mess painting i give them the brush and the item but no paint and make them sit there and just pretend to paint.

Try oxiclean on the carpet. Take the sun catchers away and refuse to let him play with them again until he is responsible enough to keep them in the appropriate place. Make him write sentences if he is old enough---I will not use my suncatchers on the carpet like 50 times.

If it was an accident, no punishment.
The child should help you clean up the mess.
