I am English and I live in England my husband to be is an American and lives in America, we would like to get married over here and then later on return to America to live, I wondered if any one else had been through anything like this or may know anything about some of the pit falls we could face?

Yes you can, but it will take time to be able to fly out and be allowed home to America. I did the same kind of thing and feel free to shoot me a mail as it is complicated to explain on here.

Tried to contact you but your address is not confirmed. Write to me again with your real e-mail address as I have important info about your question

I think he can come to UK and stay there like a tourist for 3 months. In the meantime you and him need to go to your local US Embassy and make the paperwork for marriage.
What he need, all the papers, he need to bring them to UK.
You can also call the Embassy right now and get some in formations.

I don't think it would really be that difficult. I'm not sure what English standards are for marriage...but the U.S. won't care and will recognize it no problem.
Unless you're a man.
