I did. It would have been nice to be surprised, but babies are really expensive and we couldn't afford the surprise, because contrary to everyone's beliefs(sp??) they really don't sell that many neutral baby outfits, etc.

Well, my husband and I were not entirely sure we wanted to find out. But, our son was and is still not in any way shy. So the first thing, and I do mean the first thing, we saw was either a boy or a very deformed child that was going to have three legs. The nurse didn't even have to ask if we wanted to know. I looked at the screen and all I could say was "Ooh, well, um, yeah", my husband on the other hand asked if we were looking at what he thought we were looking at.
Needless to say if the child I am pregnant with now is anything like their brother we won't have a choice in finding out.

I found out with my twins because I needed to know, hey there's 2 of em, I really needed to be prepared. I found out with my 3rd child because I was worried I was going to have twins again. I wasn't going to with my 4th because my husband didn't want to, but then in the middle of the ultrasound he changed his mind. I'm now 7 weeks preggo with my final child and I decided not to this time. I want one last surprise. Besides, I have most of the baby stuff I need already and been thru enough pregnancies. I need something to keep this one exciting.

My sister didn't with her first - it was the first grandchild on both sides, but did on all her others. I only know of one other person that has not found out, and she has done it on both her children (boy and girl). We always found out what we were having - it's so much easier to plan - and kept the name a surprise! It was fun being able to call and say the baby was here, and still have them in suspense over what we named them.

I did. I live out of state from all of my family, so I wanted to give them a chance to do their shopping and things that they wanted to do.
Now when I go to the store I always pick up a little outfit or some socks and check the clearance racks (there is some GOOD stuff on those). So we will be well stocked with lots of boy stuff by the time he gets here.
(I didnt want an entire wardrobe of yellow and green clothing. yick!)

I am trying like heck to!!! I am currently 23 weeks and i tried at 16 weeks (sonogram - knees up to chest, couldn't see under bottom), 18 weeks (regular dr.'s appt. - ultrasound - he has a machine in his office and doesn't charge for ultrasounds to figure out sex - baby sitting cross legged with feet up in groin area), and again at 22 weeks (regular dr.'s appt. - legs down but umbilical cord bunched up just right as to not be able to tell. The next time I try is at 25 weeks (week early to do my glucose tolerance test). .... So wish me luck because it's driving me CRAZY!!!!!!!

i wanted too but they couldn't tell (he turned out to be a boy).
about 75% of the people in my life do NOT find out. I was in the minority.
the people who don't find out usually state they like the surprise. I'm personally think having a baby is enough of a surprise. i find it comforting to know some things for certain.

I found out. I thought it'd help us choose a name so we wouldn't refer to our baby as "the bump" for the duration of the pregnancy! :)
Turns out, we didn't decide on a name 100% until our son was born.

I did, i was soooo nosy and just had to know.
I would of liked to be surprised at birth. They say that it helps you prepare for the baby but nothing can prepare you for parenting.
