Is 9 1/2 yrs older then the man close enough? My husband and I have been together for over 11 years and have a daughter together along with my 21, 19 and 17 year old children. I don't worry too much about our age difference and me looking older first. It's more in how you feel about your age verses his. If getting "old" is grey hairs, shoot I just grab the hair dye. I've had grey hairs since I was 18, so that doesn't matter too much. Yea, I do look older than him, but I'm supposed to, I am older. Early on it was tough, especially when I got asked how old my "son" is by girls, I just corrected them and said my "husband" is 20 and that was that. I tend to joke sometimes about our age difference, telling him I'll get AARP before he can or I'll get the senior discount first. Most important thing is not to let your age difference get in your way of being happy. I just turned 40, but I can still turn his head with a mini skirt on and a few other too. Don't worry about getting "old", just keep yourself feeling young instead. Feeling younger will show through better then thinking old. Have fun!

It depends on what the basis for the relationship is. If the man only likes the woman because she's "hot", it will be a problem as time goes by. However, if they are mutually compatible and have a good foundation for their relationship, it should be fine. We know a couple that has been married for 20 years. The wife is 10+ years older than the husband (now well into her 50's) and they are still going strong and very much in love.

I had the best relationship in my life with a woman 22 years older.
Beautiful inside & out. She parted ways because I was the one who wanted to make a commitment. You got some really wonderful answers. Just everyone watch out for mr johnson who has returned after being removed, with his one or two word answers when he doesn't care about YOU at all, just advertising his website. 10 years older isn't really so much! If you're planning on a long term relationship, love will mean more than anything else. If it's something else, believe me, MANY men prefer an "older" woman.

Been there and done that. If a woman takes care of herself, there's no reason for her to feel bad about herself or her boyfriend/husband. I dated a woman that was about 15 years older than me and it was great but I didn't have her ambitions in life so we parted but it was fine while it lasted.

That is what people fail to look at when they get together. Deal with it. Try to find things in common. Make the best of what you have.
