Chloe,

It would help if you told us where you are coming from, and what part of Canada you are going to. If you are in the USA, then Canada is pretty much north of wherever you are. Canada used to be the third largest country in area (after the USSR and China) so you really can't miss us! You can use Google maps to get an idea of where we are compared to you.

If you are coming to Canada by plane, you will need a passport. No visas are required from the USA unless you plan to work here.

Canada covers many time zones...Montreal and Toronto are same time as New York, Calgary and Edmonton are same as Denver, and Vancouver is same time as Los Angeles.

Temperatures are in Celsius so when we say it is 4 degrees outside, we mean about 40 fahrenheit. I'm in Montreal and so it is cold and snowing presently, but we have had an abnormally warm winter. Only about 2 inches of snow on the ground so far. Speed limits and distances are also metric, and people drive 100KM/H on the highway, which is about 60MPH.

We drive on the right side of the road, same as the States.

Most credit cards (Visa, AmEx, Mastercard) are accepted at restaurants and department stores, and if you have an ATM card that is part of the Interac or Plus network, they are accepted for cash withdrawals.

Canada is similar to the U.S. as far as living in the 21st century and being very modern. You know, indoor plumbing, electric lights, we even have computers and the internet! LOL!! No igloo's, either. Well, a friend of mine builds one in his backyard every winter, but that's beside the point.

While Canada is similar to the U.S. on the surface, once you spend some time here and/or research it, you discover it is really very much it's own country and a lot different as far as politics, culture, expectations, materialism, customs, and people.

As far as how long it takes to get there, it depends, if you live in Michigan, not long at all. If you live in Texas, 4 days by land. Also, Canada is larger than the U.S. If you are on another continent, it will take even longer, of course.

Well i live in Canada and i think its nice and i don't know where your coming from in order to say how long it will take to get here. Alberta can be very cold my mother lives there and her weather dropped to -37 a few weeks ago. I live in Ontario the mildest province in Canada. As for time its not that time goes back its that when you are on the other side of the earth like China the sun is shining and when the sun goes down in china it is just coming up in Canada.

Time doesn't change unless you're travelling east or west through different time zones. How long it takes to get there depends on where you are to begin with, and what part of Canada you're going to. I suggest you look at a map.

Time doesn't change unless you are going east or west. It is very nice here. It depends where you're going from and to for the length of the trip.

Right now in my part of Canada, it is snowing and - 19 but I wouldn't trade living here for anything. Seeing as I don't know where you are, I can only tell you that it's 12 o'clock p.m right now.

It's a big country. If you are American and go northeast time will be earlier, if you go northwest time will be later. If you go more or less North, it doesn't change.

If you know what province you are going to, click on this link and you can figure it out.

Are you nuts or what?! If you don't even know about Canada's size, and the identical time zones as compared to the US, then how can you possibly travel by yourself? Does your mommy know you're on the internet?
