She started by saying that she never intended to flirt with me, and she asked me to explain some things I told her about her flirting. Why did she then ask me in detail about how she flirted? She said she will not act like that anymore, but she still does. She then asked me what I meant by "If we dated, it would be serious". Why would she ask that also? Lastly, she said we can still be good friends. What does she want??

She wants to drive you nuts, that's what she wants to do. This girl has a half-as-sed way of communicating what she wants. You can guess if you want to or wait until she grows up. She is clueless about what she wants.

People love to hear others' opinions of themselves, especially if they think they're flattering. That's why people often ask what do we think about them.
Obviously a young girl, or she wouldn't be asking something so self-centered.
