that only shows the a/c settings and radio settings.. can i still get a navigation in the original screen display without buying an external navigation system?

You'll have to replace your current assembly with a navigation equipped assembly. You won't be able to use your current screen or just slide in the navigation hardware from another nissan. You have to do a complete swap.

Cars with navigation get full color screens and a DVD player under the heater A/C controls in that cubby hole. Mapping softwear DVD and player and screen and necessary parts are only available ordered on the car when new. However there are portable units out there that are better in some ways "soft wear" and worse "Display size".
