Doesn't the immigration take away the Conditional green card in order for someone to get a Permanent green card?
It is really important that I know.

The conditional green card is given for two years. Usually by the time you get the permanent card, the conditional card has already expired, so it is worthless. Once you have the permanent card, the conditional is outdated. Either destroy it or drop it off in the local INS office.

Yes, a conditional green card is eventually replace by a permanent one. It makes no sense to have both. I believe the conditional card has to be turned in when the resident gets the permanent one.

INS should take away your conditional when you get a permanent one.
If they didn't take it away, you should destroy it. If it ends up in the wrong hands it could mean trouble for you.
