So why can't God force people to believe in him/her/it?

God's will.. 'Cause in the end, that's all you're going to have.

I find it strange that you would see salvation (translated rescue!) as a forced issue for those that don't believe we have the ability to look to God for salvation. Free will, if we're guilty before God anyway, is nothing to be desirous of. I will always place God's will before my own as far as which is more effective, He gets the benefit of the doubt. So, not only can he choose me, He gets to do so at any time in history, which explains predestination very well I think. If He loved me before the foundation of the world, that means I'm His from eternity to eternity, and I'll throw free will right out the window for a promise like that.

God will is stronger thn human will but God does not want to force people to love him. You have to go to God on your own. It's like if you were in love with someone and you had the power to make them love you would you or would you be more satisfied that they developed a love for you on their own. Most people would want a love to devlope on it's own then to force someone to do something. so the love of god is the same way.

I'm struggling with this question myself, currently.

I work in the health care field and someone once told me that I should not give condoms out freely to people because condoms prevent the sperm from uniting with the egg (in hetero relationships) and therefore, God's will regarding whether that woman becomes pregnant or not is taken away, trumped, if you will by our own wills.

I reminded that person that they believe that god is omnipotent and can do anything "he" wants, despite the challenge. Surely, god's will, if s/he is omnipotent, can overcome a very thin layer of latex, right?

The same is true for the religious argument against hormonal birth control. If you believe god is omnipotent and it is "his" will that you become pregnant, then no thin layers of latex or hormones should be able to prevent it, right?

If you believe that god is omnipotent, your other arguments calling into question the strength of that power is disingenuous. I mean stick to one argument and leave it at that, please. Either god is omnipotent or s/he isn't. If god's will can be kept at bay by a thin layer of latex, then god is not omnipotent and neither is its will.

God's will is stronger because free will comes from God, not humanity.

Very important question.
If you believe in God then its God's will.
If you don't, Your free will take you to God ultimately.
God is The God.He does not bother even if the whole world does not obey Him.He gives you a very short span of time and your free will in this short life.He is just watching, who obeys him and who does not? Ultimately, its Gods will to judge us for our actions on the Day of the Judgment.

I'd say God's will.
While He doesn't mess around with our free will (though He can), He gave humanity the choice originally in the beginning of time. We chose to reject His love and choose instead a life of humanity. Call me an idiot for believing in that, but I can't deny my own convictions. =)

God's will.

He could force us to believe in him if he wanted to. Instead he chose to give us free will.

For fixed destiny, its God's will which works but for our daily life its our free will and when religious peoples combine their free will with God's will then again God's will become dominant !!

God is the strongest but allows mankind to have free will. God could over ride our will, if need be
