It is a good idea to have them go to bed at the same time weekdays and weekends but I would move it up a bit. For a lot of children, especially those with ADHD, a little sleep deprivation makes it impossible to concentrate and follow directions. I would shoot for 8 with the expectation that they were asleep by 8:30-9. Tell them it isn't a punishment but that you want them to be healthy, strong and to really feel good during the day. One of my friends put her kids to bed just a half-hour earlier and the doctor lowered their dose of meds because of the positive change in them. We ask so much of our kids now and they have so little time that it is tempting to scrape a few extra hours for them out of their sleep but it really hurts them in the long run. You have to do what you think is best for your kids, but there is a lot of research saying that kids need more sleep than we give them. Good Luck.

I have 3 kids ages 3, 7 and 9. All boys and they are sooooo hyper active. I make sure i put them to bed at least by 9. On the weekends I may let the 7 and 9 year old stay up until 930 or 10, although they rarley make it to that because they end up falling asleep anyways.

My son has ADHD and has troubles sleeping (very active in his sleep, talks, yells, sleepwalks). I would let him go to bed at 8:30 but he had such a hard time getting up for school at 7 am that I had to move his bedtime back to 8:00 pm. And he's doing better. The more sleep the better.

Any child needs to have a consistent bedtime, it's best for everyone. I would say 9pm would be a fair time for a 7 and 9 year old to go to bed.

You're doing fine, assuming you are able to get them ready and in bed at that time. Don't let the condition make you forget that they are supposed to be normal children. Treat them as such and treat the condition as you would an allergy that is under medication.

With my ADHD kids I put them to bet at 8 o'clock it has worked out but it sounds like your doing pretty good with keeping them on a schedule ... that is very important

8:00 used to be my bedtime when I was that age, and I didn't have ADHD.

HI, THEY TOLD ME THAT MY SON HAD (ADHD) AND I TRIED HIM ON SOME MEDS. BUT WHEN IT COME DOWN TO IT I DID NOT HAVE MY SON ANY MORE. THE MEDS MADE HIM SO SLEEP AND JUST NOT HIM. AS FOR PUTTING THEM TO BED I ALL WAYS LET MY BOYS RUN AROUND TO ABOUT 10:00 AT NIGHT. THEY WOULD GO RIGHT TO SLEEP. I LOVE MY SONS AND LIKE SPENDING TIME WITH THEM. TO ME IF THEY STAY UP MORE TIME WITH THEM THAT WHAT I THOUGHT.
