the old one.
That men may know that thou, whose name alone is JE-HO`-VAH,art the most high over all the earth.
I was told that the new one doesnt have the name Jehovah in it so I was just wondering thanks.

I do understand that Lord or LORD and God are just titles as [Mom Dad King]. Just wondering also why it is that it states "you ALONE not with Jesus or any one but Alone?"

The KJV of the Bible at Psalm 83:18 reads this way--
"That men may know that thou, whose name alone is JEHOVAH, art the most high over all the earth."
The New KJV at Psalm 83:18 reads --
"That they may know that You, whose name alone is the LORD,
Are the Most High over all the earth."
How can Bible translators take it upon themselves to remove the name of the one true God Jehovah and replace it with "LORD"?
By doing this they show total disregard for the personal name of the one who gave them life.
The KJV translators are also guilty of replacing "Jehovah" with "LORD" except for a few places which include Psalm 83:18,
Exodus 6:3, Isaiah 12:2 and Isaiah 26:4.

in the king james bible ps 83 verse 18. that men may know that thou, whose name alone is Jehovah, art the most high over all the earth. and this comes from the king james bible, not our bible, that the Jehovah Witnesses use. this is also a real king james bible, not one that came from Jehovah Witnesses. Jehovah wants us to know him and to call him our friend, how can you call someone friend and not know his name? don't you can a name? how come the son has a name and not God himself?

It is best not to use the King James version of the bible because not only is it difficult for most to understand there has been new information about the languages that make it not as accurate a translation as some of the newer ones.
I use a singing version of the Psalms. I have 2 versions here the one with inclusive language says:
"let them know that your name is the Lord,
the Most High over all the earth."
PS. The Psalms are part of the Jewish bible. They were written before the time of Christ. The concept of Son and Holy Spirit are from Jesus not from the Jews. You really need to do some serious studying.

This is because the NKJV has completely removed God's name from the Bible.
If you look up the word LORD in a Strong''s Exhaustive Concordance, you will find that the KJV has exchanged the name YHWH (JHWH) for the title LORD for God's name about 7000 times.

The reason it says "Alone" is because he is God, and there is NO body higher than the father, and that is his name, Jehovah. So it is fitting that it is his postion "Alone" and his name "Alone" since he is the "Most High" :)

18That men may know that thou, whose name alone is JEHOVAH, art the most high over all the earth.
NIV:
18 Let them know that you, whose name is the LORD—
that you alone are the Most High over all the earth.
NKJV:
18 That they may know that You, whose name alone is the LORD,
Are the Most High over all the earth.
-Jehovah means God, It means Lord, There are MANY names for God, Jehovah being one of them. So the name of the LORD is not taken out of any translation.

It says Lord, which is also correct. Were not really supposed to say his name Jehovah out loud.
