Here are a few ideas: Starting with Avon Skin So Soft, you can use it as a moisturizer and also dilute it and put in a spray bottle and spray it on as a repellent. Eating lots of garlic, burning citronella candles and using neem oil as a moisturizer also help, planting marigolds and rosemary around your house are useful too.

Citronella plants repel mosquitoes. Any garden supply store or florist has them. Or just purchase citronella candles.

Avon Skin-so-Soft can be sprayed on window/door screens to keep them from coming in. Spraying on the skin will help too. They make a skin-so-soft bug repellent spray too. It smells good and it helps keep skin soft.

Lemon grass. Pots of planted lemon grass in the house and patio area.
Although DEET is more effective, it can be harsh to the person and environment.

I read somewhere recently, that if you put out a bowl of water with lemon joy dishwashing liquid, it attracts them, and kills them when they drink from it.
