If you don't even believe in any of what the Bible says, why are you so angry at the people who DO beleive it? Granted some people are huge evangelists, and will tell you what they believe and try to save you, but we aren't putting a knife to your throat and telling you to love Jesus. If you don't believe it, then fine, don't believe it, but don't claim that Christianity imposes hatred and violence, when you are the ones claiming to hate us, and be angry at us, when all we are doing is trying to spread God's love.
Now I do not speak on behalf of all "Christians" becuase many people can call themselves this. I am speaking on my own behalf.

Belief effects my life. People let belief sit behind the wheel when they make political decisions, decisions that effect the way I have to live my life. Their morality is dictating to me the boundaries and limitations of my life when this country is NOT meant to be in the business of legislating base solely on morality.
Why SHOULDN'T I claim that religious faith causes hatred and violence? Are you bold enough to claim it DOESN'T?
What I hate is unconstitutional legislation based on religious doctrine. What I hate is that the liberties of everyone in this country are being infringed upon because of how BELIEF motivates people to unjustly manipulate the law to satisfy their own ends.

We are upset because about 90% of these people believe in their religion soley because they were raised on it. Its the only religion they know. Most of them do not study any other religions, yet they claim their religion is THE religion. They are arrogant and ignorant. And because they believe in something they have never seen....they believe in it so blindly. They believe that all the good stuff that happens in their life is God's doing, and all the bad things that happen are "part of God's plan".
And also because, you people come to my door at 5 in the morning to spread guilt. I see Christianity everywhere and all they do is spread guilt. A new thing that I have seen lately, is that it almost seems like Christianity is some sort of fad. Like its the "in" thing nowadays.
I just get so weary of these people, not only Christians, but other people who seem to arrogantly think that their religion is top-dog. I just wish that people would be open-minded, do their own research, not raise their kids on a religion, and let them figure it out themselves.
I'm gonna stop typing now, cuz you're not going to pick my answer anyway, (you'll probably pick someone who agrees with you rather than someone who changes your perspective) so I may as well not strain my fingers any longer.
Good day.

definite. St Nick as you call him turned right into a real human being (actual) God isn't ( Jesus changed into his son and purely component to God as are you and that i) the legend of Santa Claus grew through the years and Centuries. The spirit of that legend does look often times doing solid issues. Now If that's an Act of God or not will not be all that substantial when you consider that God acts by others and is somewhat prepared to allow Santa Claus take the credit.

Not believing in god does not resulting in hating Christians. Nevertheless, many atheists do feel a great deal of frustration with people who are religious, because the teaching of many religions dictates a "correct" way to live in the world. Many atheists find such a set of moral guidelines, based on a belief in a supernatural being, to be without merit.
Fanaticism and extremism should be rejected by all. By this, I mean fanatical Christianity, fanatical Judaism, fanatical Islam, and also fanatical atheism, or any other such belief system.
People have a tendency to adopt a set of beliefs and to reinforce them by proselytizing others. Dictating to others how they should go about their lives is inherently wrong because it attempts to negate personal choice, which should be the foundation for any belief system.

Moderate religious people are not the problem...it is the radicals that we like to rant at.
Also you are missing the big point which is that it is not anger at God, Jesus, Yahweh, Allah, Moses or Muhamed but at the way they and their teachings have been interpreted and in my opinion mangled.
Here are some random examples of things that have gradually eroded my support for relgious people and in particular Christians..
Bumper stickers that says "Jesus is the reason for the season".
Everyone knows or should do that Heathen religions were the reason for the season and the Christian church just tried to piggy back that by moving the birth of Christ to a Pagan festival in a rather elaborate sort of bait-n-switch.
Jesus healed people and ranted against organised religion. Yet Christianity became the McDonalds of religion, torturing and murdering in the name of Christ. Even today I repeatedly hear Christians saying people who heal with their hands are evil.
Terrorists...of all religions, but in particular Jewish, Christian and Muslim.
Neighbors who won't let their children celebrate Halloween because it is the Devil's night. (Unless of course dentists can be considered Devils...I know at least one who might be up for that title)
Politicians who use religion to support a black and white view of the world (thats not a racial comment).
When religion stands in the way of progress.
I think the biggest sin in the last 2000 years was the deification of Jesus. I think it was Peter's guilty conscious (for letting his friend down) that led to this. If you think Jesus was literally the son of God then none of what he stood for has any meaning. It would have been easy for him to do all that he did. Jesus' story is only meaningful if he wasn't a demi-God.
Oh well...long answer that could go on for pages...not gonna get a best answer for this (because I know that if you feel the way you do you probably won't empathise with what am I saying) but I thought it was worth trying to let you know how I feel.

The world could do without "God's love".
Christianity and Islam are the only two religions that are extroverted... they preach. They advocate spreading their beliefs and making every attempt to convert as many people as possible, making appeals to emotion and subliminal threats like divine used car salesmen. All other religions are inwardly-focused, concentrating on making the INDIVIDUAL a better person.
Christians need to learn that religious belief is personal, and not everyone is going to believe exactly as they do. If their God is so loving, He would respect that. God's followers only serve to prove that he's nothing more than a jealous tyrant if he exists.

There are those "well meaning" individuals that often cross the line when trying to convince a skeptic like myself that something that they have no proof for exists. I have been yelled at, cursed at, even physically assaulted for politely saying "I don't believe." When the more radical right wing conservative funnymentalist attack with such anger and hate that they assassinate doctors for preforming legal medical procedures, they are doing the same thing as the radical right wing conservative funnymentals that attack with such anger and hate they let a group of young girls burn to death in a school fire because they couldn't cover their faces.
Geeze, I didn't even mention the name of a religion and you know exactly what I'm talking about.

i am not angry at Christians for believing in god. i am angry at those of them that try to make me into what they are. i don't need people saying i am going to hell or some other bull just because we believe different things. i don't need them to make me feel inferior because i believe a different thing.
and besides be "spreading God's love" all they have ever done is kill people (The Crusades, The Inquisition...etc)
so I don't need some arrogant Christian/Catholic ( I don't say other religions because these two groups are the worst) telling me I am evil when I have never killed people for "the holy land"
please what a bunch of bullsh*t

I don't believe in god and totally support anyone's right to believe in whatever they chose to believe in.
Those who got angry either were in a bad mood at the time they responded or are just unhappy. Being unhappy is equally distributed among all religions or atheists. Look at priests who molested teenage boys. They must have been just as angry to have raped an innocent child.

I agree that you have to believe in God to say he doesn't exist. They are angry because they probably feel that God left them out of what He gave "Christians", or they are stuck in their rebellious life style and imprisoned by their own self destructive lives and spiritual demise that they have to take it out on the Godly ones. That is natural. Hebrews 4:12
For the word of God is living and active and sharper than any two-edged sword, and piercing as far as the division of soul and spirit, of both joints and marrow, and able to judge the thoughts and intentions of the heart.
Jesus said “Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leaded to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: Because strait is the gate, and narrow in the way, which leaded until life, and few there be that find it.”

Because some Christians - note that I said "some" - vehemently want to pass laws based on Christianity that affect everyone in this country. That doesn't mean those of us who don't believe in your god are angry with your god. It means that we don't like having the threat of living in a theocracy where only one belief system is accept hanging over our heads.
