Hey I have been eating an average of 800 cal every day since Sept and I have gone from 120 something lbs to 102 lbs. I am 5'1. I am wondering how I can get out of starvation mode since I am anorexic but without gaining the weight back since I am terrified of getting fat again. How would I do so?

eat low calorie healthy foods, an egg white has only 20 calories (throw away the yolk, it's loaded with fat & calories) celery takes more calories to chew and digest than it gives, mushrooms have zero calories, lettuce, carrots, tomatoes, are all low in calories, (don't use dressing) you can eat low calorie foods, maintain the weight and be healthier than ever. At 5' 1" and 102lbs, you're thin, but it's not dangerous.
standard weight charts say at 5' you should weigh 100 lbs and add 5 lbs for every inch over 5'. So at 5'1' you "should" be 105. So 102 isn't at a danger point, but you gotta eat.

No anorexic will enjoy reading this, but Anorexia Nervosa is a fat persons disease. If you was naturally thin or slim minded you wouldn't be anorexic from the start. Think about that next time you dread being fat. You have gradually got yourself into starvation mode since September, I would be so proud of you if you could get yourself out of it and realise that it is the person inside who counts. If you just eat in normal quantities, and learn to eat only when your body needs food you will never, ever be fat. Once you start setting unrealistic goals you will just spend the rest of your life with weight problems.
I do no what I'm saying. I live with a severly anorexic brother. He exercises so many hours a day that if he attempted to exercise an hour a day like a normal fit male, it would have no effect on his body whatsoever because he has trained his body to only accept the extreme. He only consumes at very most 200 calories a day, he looks like a skeleton and cannot lose anymore weight despite over excersizing every day to lose more and more. He just looks old, he looks like a frail 80 year old when he is only 40 years old. Do you want to end up like this?
Diet and excersize at a normal level, your weight will be normal and most importantly so will your mind. I would love to hear from you in a months time and for you to tell me you got the better of the fat persons disease.

First of all i would say being anorexic is really the worst way to get skinny! My friend was anorexic because her boy friend called her fat she lost 44lbs and was 87 pounds (5"4), she ended up killing herself. She was only 13.
so i think you should stop being anorexic and have a healthy life planned out or somthin. you know like stay in shape. and u probably won't get fatter.

Not without help you can't. You need a counselor or when you gain even 1 lb. you will freak out and go right back to starving yourself. You need to gain about 10 lbs. now to be at the lowest level of healthy weight.

It really shouldnt be about being thin- and Im not judging you but it should be about being healthy- and you can do that without becoming "fat". Eat friuts, fish or chiken, vegatibles, and brown rice. If your body doesnt want to stay at 102 pounds then you weren't made too, and theres nothing wrong with that , YOUR BEAUTIFUL THE WAY YOU WERE MADE!!!! ♥

you need to gain a little weight...it's just not a healthy weight for you! you don't need to gain much just a little. i would suggest 10lbs. to make sure your getting all your vitamins eat lots of fruits and veg. try juicing them that way it's just a drink. look atyourself in the mirror every day and say i love you (say your name). it feels great. good luck and be healthy! they have beans at the grocery store now that are sprouted, super good for you and low cal, and a bit of protein!!! try eating some raw almonds too, very good for you and your brain.

you really need to talk to a doctor too about how your eating as soon as possible so you don't perminatly damage your body (like becoming infertile) or dying.

You shouldn't be so worried about being "fat" (120 is perfectly normal, maybe even light) and be more worried about what is happening to your organs, your skin, your hair, your teeth, your bones, your brain, and everything else.

Anorexia is suicide. If you ever want to be attractive to anyone, you need to be healthy. Getting help now is an admirable thing.

To get out of starvation mode you have to eat. That is the only way. Remember to eat HEALTHY foods.

i suggest you seek the help of a professional so you can lose weight in a HEALTHY way. anorexia is not going to solve your problems and if you are really insecure about your weight then maybe you should talk to an adult(because i imagine you must be a teen).
i hope that you realize that what you are doing is actually DAMAGING your body, not helping it!

Well im with you buddy, the best thing to do is try not to think about it. I know its hard but the people that really matter wont care what you look like! I also eat my dinner and snack while talking to my girlfriend or playing guitar. They are the things that make me happy , so i can eat while i do them. I'm about 145 pounds now, I lucked out that my girlfriend came and told me that i was getting bad with my eating. Yeah, don't watch your calories!
