Okay, over a year old, they should be drinking whole milk - not formula or breast milk. That's first off.

If you're offering just baby food - try giving him different textures of foods. He might just be beyond the pureed stuff. Try offering him small pieces of whatever you're eating that he can pick up with his fingers and put in his own mouth. The other thing is, kids go thru stages where they will ONLY eat certain foods and not others. No big deal - they all outgrow it. Just keep offering a variety of healthy foods to him and if he's hungry, he'll eat.

We went through the same think with our son, and we also gave him formula. You would never know to look at him because he is a very chubby little boy. We finally quit giving him formula, beefed up his cottage cheese and yogurt intake as much as we could and made sure he ate or drank his vitamins. When he refused to drink milk for a while, I gave him milk with just enough fortified strawberry powder in it to change it to a light pink. I also put his vitamin drops in it and he drinks it just fine. He used to eat the chewy vitamins, but now he won't so he gets drops again. I guess just try to find whatever alternatives to the protein and iron in meat. My son eats a lot of cheese, yougurt, peanut butter on whole grain toast, and almonds or other nuts. I make sure the nuts are already crushed so he can't choke on them as easily. There are also those pedia sure shakes and a couple other just like them, but they are very expensive for people on a tight budget. Good luck. Hope I could help.

You can still give him other things in place to achieve the same results, such as peanut butter, eggs, fruit. You can add it to meals, not letting them be apart.
