Toddler's go through food stages. I think it has to do with their developing palate and tastebuds. Anyway, they may go 2 weeks only eating 1-2 foods and then change up. Eventually, it all evens out. Keep introducing new foods. You can try alternatives to meat for protein...eggs, cheese, peanut butter for instance. Milk is major protein, so you probably have no worries there. There are a huge variety of vegetables. Put a little out for him to try. Experiment with different textured and coloured vegetables. Try new ideas, like sweet potato fries. His curiosity will eventually get the best of him. Good luck.

You can try alternating bites of a fruit with a veggie or meat.

Let him know you are doing it though! If you suprise or try to sneak it in, you might find he'll be turned off even more.

Do try the meat and veggies first as others have suggested. If he knows he'll get something he likes better, then why would he try the new things he's unsure of?

Always offer and have him taste something at least three times (3 meals or 3 days in a row.) It can take a little one quite some time to grow accustomed to a new taste.

Experiment with both taste and texture. He may like the taste of a sweeter veggie (like a butternut squash or something) but be turned off by a consistency he's not used to. Try mixing things into mashed potatoes, or running some of the veggies through a food processor for a while maybe.

Variety is very important for this age though. The body needs all kinds of nutrients to stay healthy and to develop properly. Make sure you keep in touch with your pediatrician. He may be able to prescribe a stronger vitamin or something to help you get through this time w/o depleting your childs system. Also, he/she may have some tips. Most pediatricians have seen just about everything!

And, good for you for asking and not just letting him do what he wants b/c its easier. Its so much healthier for him in the long run! (Obviously you know that.)

What DOES your 15 month old like?

1) Is it an allergy?
2) How are you preparing the food?
3) How are you feeding your child?

While it's not unheard of for a 15 month old to gladly decline food, this may be something else. Does s/he have a bad reflux?

i think that every child goes through these stage, give your 15 month old whatever they want right now and in time they will come back to those things. I use to worry about the same thing with my son. he use to hate those things, i tried rice for a while he ate that, i guess after a few time he realize he don't want only rice no more, he wanted other texture of food. right now he is 21 months and loving everything that goes in his mouth. my only concern now is his coming of the terrible two;s. lol

Obviously you should talk to your doctor. ALSO... though there is the most wonderful juice on the market that I use for my son. It's V8 Fusion! It 100% supply of fruits & vegetables and vitamins. It's not the normal V8 that tastes like tomato... IT'S ACTUALLY GOOD! My sons favorite is Strawberry Banana... and it tastes like Strawberries & Banana! There is also, orange & mango, I believe. It's most likely just a stage, but this juice will ensure he/she get the vitamins and nutriets he/she needs! Good luck!

This will change over time. For now, if youre concerned about possible nutrition problems sneak some of it into the foods your child does enjoy. This may require extra mashing and even some games to make it fun.

ok, over a year previous, they must be ingesting total milk - no longer formulation or breast milk. that's first of all. once you're offering purely toddler foodstuff - attempt giving him diverse textures of ingredients. He could purely be previous the pureed stuff. attempt offering him small products of in spite of you're ingesting that he can p.c.. up along with his palms and put in his very own mouth. the different factor is, young infants bypass by way of tiers the place they are going to easily consume particular ingredients and not others. No massive deal - all of them outgrow it. purely keep offering a sort of healthful ingredients to him and if he's hungry, he will consume.

Keep forumula or some "follow up formula" going - ask your doc, or course, first. Check to see if there are food sensitivities - my son had horribly red, chafed cheeks - turned out he was allergic to dairy, egg, wheat and chicken. (He outgrew most) If you look hard enough you'll find some good substitutes. Tofu was a lifesaver, easy for him to eat, not real flavorful. He loved it.

Nothing un-normal about that. My friends daughter ate nothing but macaroni for the first 12 years of her life.

Pretty healthy girl. Get the vitamins down the little one.

I had that same problem and when i took my son to the pediatrician it turned out it was because we were giving him to much fruit, always start meals with meat and vegies or they get addicted to fruit.
