The question: "Are you withhelding any information about your drug usage history?" In the beginning, I was doing okay until the second and third time they ask. The 2nd time, I remembered that I have done marijuana twice instead of once. For the 3rd time, I was too scared to do anything. After the test, I wrote an admission about the picked up deception.

Before the test, I have admitted using marijuana once. It was during the test that I remembered using once more before the listed usage.

Anytime a polygraph is given...it's sole purpose is to obtain the truth. At this point in time, you may wish to ask for a special meeting to discuss the circumstances of your test and ask that they take into consideration your inability to remember but not your inability to be honest!

If you're applying for a position in law enforcement, your chances of getting the job are in jeopardy. One of the most important things employers look for when hiring for positions of public trust (like police officers) is integrity, and if they catch you in a lie that calls your integrity into question. You can bet that the admission will be passed along to the people responsible for hiring, and it's very possible that you won't get the job for that reason alone.

That's right Hippie! Your dead in the water! HEH HEH! No, just kidding!! Most times that an omission statement is written, it's because the subject "forgot" something and then remembered it during repeated questioning. As long as you did not out and out lie about your pot usage it should not disqualify you from the job. But if you have smoked it within in the last 3 years it may. More and more departments are getting easier on disqualifying candidates that have tried pot. If you did not lie and say You've NEVER trie d it, you should be ok. Just make sure you haven't smoked it in the last 3 years, at least that's the way it is here. Good Luck!

Be honest, tell them you didn't remember the first time it was asked and you felt uncomfortable afterwards, it is the honesty they are after.
