"With babies having cancer they suffer because of sin. We die because of sin. Humans sin this brings death and destruction."
You imagine babies who haven't even learned what sin is burning in hell? Its amazing that any Christian has the nerve to call an atheist immoral or evil. You people are vile.

Don't know what I'm going on about? Run a search on 'original sin' if you're not familiar with these disgusting beliefs then. Why else baptise children who can't begin to have the faintest idea what they want to believe in.

I was baptised a Catholic and was taught about original sin.In my opinion it was all bollocks and as i got older i was able to abandon my catholic upbringing and boy do i feel liberated. The pathetic beliefs that are passed down are all sent to instill fear and are not even checked out by the parishioner. All a load of crap that is beleived just because the priest say's so.Makes me sick and you are so right to say what you feel. How dare the Catholic Church tell me that unless i baptise my children they will lie in some place called Purgatory and suffer forever if they were to die.Utter rubbish.

I don't know what Christians you've been speaking to. It is most unfortunate that these are the individuals who call themselves Christians that you've met. I am Christian. My best and truest friend is an atheist. I love her dearly. We respect each other and believe that respect, love and understanding are the only things that can bring people together. It is these things that are the essence of the human spirit regardless of how why you think we have them. The problem is that there are so many fanatic zenophobes everywhere - athiests, Christians, Muslims, Jews. Fanaticism is what brings this world down. I don't deny that there are some strange people out there using Christianity as a tool to distort the truth of what Christ was really all about. I don't agree with this statement and coincidentally I believe there is tremendous symbolism in the bible and evolution and the bible can co-exist. I understand that you are angry, but open your mind a little....and be part of the solution.

Original Sin refers to the belief that the first man and woman, Adam and Eve, had a choice - whether to obey God or not. Although God had given them every good gfit, they chose to disobey God, thinking they could be like him and independent of Him. In making this choice they forfeited the original holiness and justice they had received from God, not only for themselves but for all human beings. This wound to human nature has stayed with the human race, weakening its powers, so that humans are subject to ignorance, suffering, death and the inclination to sin. They also believe that babies are born with the sin on there souls so they baptise them to remove it ..but if a child isn't baptised and dies they will go straight to heaven as they are still innocent ..the person you have talked about sounds like some sicko who has read the information and twisted it to suit them

There is no such thing as Hell. Do a word search in the Bible and you'll discover the same thing. Dante and King James invented the concept. The original manuscript does not mention the word Hell at all. How could God love unconditionally if he sent people to a place like Hell? It would not be unconditional love if he did that. Amazing, he loves us even more than we thought. Do the search and you will discover the truth.-I'm battening down the hatches with this one. Because I know the defenders of this concept will be firing away.

How many Christians did you actually talk to before you made your conclusion? Babies and young children do not burn in hell because they are not old enough to hear and understand God's word. No offence to you but I suggest next time you ask around a little more before you form an opinion. We Christians are not all 'vile' as you put it.

I have never met a Christian who says that babies burn in Hell.
Babies may well have cancer because of sin....that does NOT mean it is THEIR sin.
Sin brings suffering but it does not fall evenly. If I were to kick you in the face that would be MY sin, but YOU would suffer...that dores not alter the cause and effect., just where it falls.
PS I would not do such a thing, of course....just giving an example.

Well that's just stupid. Babies are only born with Original Sin (and it's not something that will send you to hell). Original Sin is disobediance, caused as a stain from Adam and Eve when they first disobeyed God. Should a baby die unbaptised, it will still go to heaven for it never added to the sin. Not all Christians feel that way, just like not all atheists think that Christians should be purged from the world. (I have met a few who think that way)

dont worry babies wont burn in Hell - they have not reached the age of accountability, that age is different depending on the person and if mentally handicapped it may never come
I think the person you are quoting from means to say that we as humans brought sin into the world so this is a fallen world we live in and bad things happen, even to the innocent - if we never would have sinned (I mean Adam) we would be still living in paradise with God and babies would never get cancer or anything else - the death we see from sin is death of the soul - which is an eternal separation from God

Okay think of original sin in this way. In order to see shadows you have to have light. In the same way, for there to be good in the world there has to also be evil. Without evil there would be no good, as we would not point of reference and comparison. As humans we have free will, so we are born with the potential to sin. This is original sin. Without it we could not choose to do good.

I'm disgusted by all suffering, but all suffering is a symptom of our sinfulness. I'm looking forward to the day when along with other brothers and sisters in Christ, we'll be God's people and he'll be our God. And he'll wipe every tear away from our eyes. (Revelation)
