This is nothing new. People from other countries, weird enough, have apparently always been able to join our military. It is a fast track in a way, for receiving US citizenship. If an illegal alien joins the service... more power to him for wanting to become an American in an honorable legal way.

They have been doing this for many years now and it isn't new . When I was in the service back in the 70's they allowed people from the Philippines and England to join even if they were not citizens and also I've seen some from India . This can be used as a path to becoming an american citizen and has been used as such by many for years.

Your wrong and an idiot! The US government would never take illegal immigrants into the military!! Possibly legal residents (green card holders, which they already except) but illegals never. Before something like that happends, they would start the draft again, possibly even call back "Veterans". Even if it was true, you ought to be ashamed! I bet your not in the military!! Your just an average everyday nobody, that needs to complain about everyone and everything to make your self feel better, get a life!!

Sadly, that doesn't say much for us legal citizens, does it? We have to turn to those who came here illegally because our citizens don't want to do the job. Before I get a bunch of emails, I TOTALLY support our troops! I am proud to be a US citizen with such brave men and women serving. I don't understand all the people out there who are against the military and those who want to serve just because they don't understand why we are at war. We are at war and the only thing we Should be doing is supporting our troops and praying for safe returns. It doesn't matter if you agree with it or not.

How are they taking your "job?" Do you want to join the armed forces yourself? (Judging from the fact that you actually took the time to write this means "no" to me.) Is there currently not a vacant spot in the armed forces for you? NO. The armed forces is always taking in people and there are unlimited spots to fill. Please, do some homework and some thinking before you say something this ignorant and embarrass yourself again. Oh, and do the rest of the world a favour: get a vasectomy, we need less idiots in this world.

That's bull sh*t, the illegals can't even speak English, the only illegals that they take are the ones that have been here for years and no the Language, and it is a fast track to citizenship. that's why they are going. Do you think they would have illegals that can't speak English how are they going to understand commands, is every illegal going to have an interrupter with them. get real. If their are living in this country they need to defend it just like all the white and black guys that are dieing. But if you watch the news it is still mostly white guys that are dieing for this country. The illegals don't carry sh*t, all they want is a job to send money home to their families, they don't even want to assimilate into this country or care about it.

The U.S. Armed Forces does take immigrants & resident aliens. I know several people that have gotten their citizenship through service to the military.
HOWEVER! They still needed proper documentation.
