One is singular one is pural. Just always look at the word after su or sus. If it's plural use sus, if singular use su

Sus-plural, su-singular.These are used to show possession. The object/objects that are being possessed decide which one you use.If you are talking about more than one object then you use sus.Por ejemplo, Yo canto sus canciones.I sing your(usted-formal) songs.Canciones is plural so I use sus. When there is one object you use su.Por ejemplo, ¿Dónde está su hermana? Where is your(usted-formal) sister. Since I am referring to one object I use su.
