There are plenty of things to do and see.
The top attractions are:
Old San Juan - here you will find forts, the first catholic church ever built in America (San Jose), The Cathedral, City Wall, shopping, great restaurants, to visit the Bacardi Rum Distillery (they give free samples) just take the ferry from pier 1 for $0.50, there is 1 casino, and plenty of museums. It can't get more historical than Old San Juan more than 500 years old. Visit this link for a printable walking tour and more info. http://www.gotopuertorico.com/pdfs/guide...

El Yunque Rainforest - hiking trails, waterfalls, a unique experience, DO NOT MISS IT! About 35 mins from San Juan/ with no traffic!.

Culebra - sister island located on the east side, here you will find Flamenco beach 2nd best beach in US and 4th in the world, take ferry from Fajardo ( 45 mins from San Juan) $2.50 p/p.

Rio Camuy Cave Park and Arecibo Observatory Center - you can do both the same day, both located on the north side of the island, wake up early for the caves and you do not need much time for the observatory (where Contact movie was filmed), the cave park has the biggest underground river in the world - amazing.(1 hour to 1hr and 15 from San Juan)

Rincon - is a surfer's town, less hectic than the capital city, great seafood restaurants and close to Crash Boat beach (in Aguadilla/northwest) and Boqueron (Cabo Rojo/southwest), also to La Parguera where there is a bioluminicent bay (one of Puerto Rico's wonders) (2 hrs from San Juan)

Shopping - visit Plaza Las Americas Mall, the biggest mall in the Caribbean, stores for every budget, enjoy no tax until November this year.(located in Hato Rey 15 mins from the cruise ships piers)

PLEASE VISIT WWW.GOTOPUERTORICO.COM it has plenty of valuable information for your trip. But most of all ENJOY your trip!

The west side of the island:
Rincon, Isabela, Aguadilla beaches for surfing
Aguadilla skate park and skating ring
Mayaguez: ferry to the Dominican Republic (passport needed)
North of the island: Arecibo: the observatory
Camuy: Las Cuevas de Camuy, Las Cavernas
South of the Island: Ponce beautiful city

Visit the Conquistador... beautiful place to eat, swim, shop...there's also a casino as well. Puerto Rico is just a beautiful place in general. Also visit the Islands such as Calebra...you'll take a ferry...it's GORGEOUS there. You are lucky to be able to go. Have fun in the sun...but wear A LOT of sunscreen

If you love going to the beach I would definetly recommend you go to Luqillo Beach, it's beautiful! You can try a tour of the Bacardi Distillery, clubbing, Old San Juan, El Yunque (if you like outdoor/nature kinda things)...
