Bobby is very actitve with a good appitite and drinks enough water but she(i'm not sure he or she)
wants to taste anything I put in my mouth. When the sun goes down, she wants to go to sleep in her
cage like it would be normal, but in the day, with the sun shining , she still will take a nap on her perch, not where she sleeps at night. I would be grateful
for any information anyone can give me to make sure this wonderful pet gets the best care I can give her. Thank you !

Very normal for a young bird to take naps in the day. A bird never sleeps like we do, this would be too dangerous for them. At night while the bird needs 12 hours of sleep they do not sleep all the time or in a very deep sleep it is more like a series of naps. As long as your bird does not have the fluffed up sleep look all the time this is normal to have a short nap. As someone else said that the bird may be moulting which can make the bird extra sleepy, I doubt it is a moult at 7 months, but I have no idea where you are. Are other birds moulting at the moment? I think it is just normal baby naps.

Most likely your conure is starting to lose old feathers and grow new ones. This can take alot out of a parrot. you should make sure she gets a lot of fresh food, and extra protein to help with the development of new feathers. Another thing could be that there is not enough light during the day, a special light can be bought that acts like the sun light. the conure could be Bord, more toys and physical contacted could help. but if you are really worried something could be wrong take her to the vet asap.

I have an 7 month old African Grey who sleeps 12 hours at night and nap off and on throughout the day. When she's active she's wild but when she done of her playtime she rests. Not much different from any baby.

Hmm maybe you're just waking it up too early. They need 12 hours of sleep. But it's okay if they take short naps as long as it acts healthy continues eating and drinking and still likes to play. Birds sleep with their heads stuck and on one foot so it could just be resting it's eyes. My bird likes to wink too!

yes my bird sleepes during the day all the time. reason: it takes a lot of energy to keep worm so they eat lots of little meals and enjoy a shotr nap in the middle of the day.
