Nobody can prove any gods, much less a specific god, exist; many people will tell you their god exists but no others, but will never be able to prove it, even if they think so. Some will threaten you with eternal pain or promise eternal joy to get you to believe in their god; these are all stories, created for people who were scared long before we understood the universe. many attributes, many rules, many everything. sometimes he's even a she, or an animal... that's one of the best reasons to believe that god is a figment of our imagination. every culture that invented god invented one that fit their culture. and no 2 are exactly alike. the god of the catholics is describably different than the god of the protestants, even! let alone Ra vs. Jehovah. IF god was real then there would be one idea of him, one expression, not thousands. IF you think that it is satan who leads people to believe in other gods then god is really twisted... he actually lets the devout pray to a god that they think is the right one and lets them do all of the things necessary (e.g. human sacrifice among the Aztec) to fulfill themselves in this god but never shows himself to them to draw them back to himself? can you fathom how many generations of people from all over the world for all time would be rotting in hell because of this? IF god is real then there should be one expression of him on earth, and one name.
