I used to have the same problem. I use Caruso hair rollers. They are sponge rollers that you put on a steaming unit one at a time (it only takes a few seconds), put them in, and the steam evaporates to set the curl. The curls last a lot longer and the best part is they will be really soft...no heat damage! You can get them at amazon.com, drugstore.com, or sally beauty supply. Be sure to use distilled water, and clean the steamer periodically according to the instructions.

If your hair is compeltely straight, then there is no way to make it curled just using spray, mousses,, waxes, etc.
If you have some waves on it, but you want to define the curls the best way to do it is:
While showering, brush your hair. When you finish showering, wrap your hair in a towel, and don't brush or cumb it anymore.
Then add some serum, you can find them of different brands, and spread it all over your hair while with your hand you press your hair from the ends to the roots.
Then add mousse, a big amount, the orange Go2B is the one that works best for me.
After that, use the hairdryer, again pressing your hair with the free hand while you dry it. Start with your head upside down and when it is dry, then put your head straight and finish drying.
That is definitely the best way to do it.

As you curl each section, use duckbill clips, and coil them back to your head. Then, when they're cool, take them out and use hairspray. Another good thing would be to use a curling spray, such as L'oreal studio line spring spray, before curling, and a mixture of anti-frizz, like got2bglossy, a leave in conditioner, like Lanza Urban elements, and a curling product based on your hair type:
For naturally straight or thin hair: use Garnier Fructis Curling Mousse
For naturally wavy or medium hair: use John Freida Frizz Ease Dream Curls
For naturally curly or thick or course hair: use Garnier Fructis Curl Shaping Spray Gel.
Then, after mixing products together and applying to hair, blow-dry smooth before starting with a curling iron. After curling each section, coil it with your finger and secure to your head with a duckbill clip. When you're done with your whole head, wait about 10 minutes for the whole thing to cool down. Then spray with hairspray and take out all the clips. It should last this way.
Good luck!!

Okay, well, before you curl it spray it a LOT with hairspray. Try to get the strongest spray you can find if your hair is pin straight. After you spray your hair really thouroly(do it one little strand thing at a time or it will dry before you get to your whole head) curl it for as long as you think you need to. WA LA!

Spray the pieces you are about to curl with hair spray BEFORE you curl them with the curling iron. Also, when you are done curling your hair, spray all the curls just to give them some extra hold.

Do u use curl enhancing spray or cream before u curl? u can try osis range by schwazkopf, loreal, redken or sebastian. u need that to make the curls stay n protect ur hair from heat while u curl. after u got your curls then u spray. usually curling tongs and round brush preferably metal base(big for big curls or long hair and small for smaller curls or short hair) are good tools for curls.

Spraying it then curling it with rollers and drying it with a blowdryer. It should keep. If this is what youre doing then try curing it with a curling iron and then spraying it. One of the two methods usually works.

I roll up my hair with culers. I use the plastic, snap on rollers with the smooth barrel. I also apply a setting lotion to my hair. My hair stays curled all day until I get home at night to roll it back up again. i have shiny, bouncy, firm curls everyday

try and crunch your hair with a hair dryer, defuiser and lots of mouse, then hair spray it and then pick sections out to tong, it stays in longer, because scrunching gives your hair a different texture that holds curls!
