What does it mean when a guy that you aren't dating tells you that he feels like he cant compete with your friends for time with you ?

you must make a decision then, who do you value more a cloistered guy who is controlling, or a good time with people who care about you and want you to have a good time and find a guy who enjoys you being happy and free.

It means that he wants to be with u but he doesn't want to compete with ur friends in order to spend time with u

Well, to be honest, it means that he is not receiving your undevoted attention. This could be real or it could be a selfish ploy. I want undivided attention too, however, let's be real. There are others in life and we must attend to the mundane things. But, if I am not at the first of the list when it comes to choosing a nite out with me, or the friends....then well, "Keep your friends."

that he feels like if you guys were to date that he wouldnt be able to compete with them that no matter what happens they are first and hes on the back burner i felt the same way but thats just how we feel.

it can be construed in two different ways. first, it could mean he's signalling to end the relationship and finding an excuse to exit. or he could be crying out for attention from you. in other words, he wants you to devote more time to him than. on a farther note, he could also be saying he doesn't like ur friends and wants u to hang out less with them. talk to him, only he knows the true answer.

It means that you need to pay more attention to him and go out with him. Obviously you are spending too much time with your friends. Maybe you can "balance" the two?
