I am embarrassed my my lack of biblical knowledge on this and figure the fastest way is to ask here.

Did he specifically say that he was a sacrifice for our sins? Or his blood or death would do something like this?
Not what others said, what JESUS himself said (according to the bible anyway)
(Please no atheist answers, I get it, there is no sin or god and all that )

I'm not sure if He said it in those specific words. But in John 3:16, Jesus says: "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life." The only way we can NOT perish is to be in the presence of God after we die and the only way we can to that is if we are perfect. And the only way we can be seen perfect in God's eyes is to accept Jesus as the Lord of our life.

He died to save our sins. They are all saved and quarantined in Heaven.

By the way, what's wrong with atheist answers? I am embarrassed by your lack of interest in atheist answers.

As for Jesus' own words, read them for yourself in Matthew, Mark, Luke or John.

He said that he was going to die to save us from our sins. God also said it when he sent the Angel to explain to Merry and Joseph that Merry was going to have a son (Jesus).

For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. I have come down from heaven not to do my will but to do the will of him who sent me. No one has seen the Father except the one who is from God. Only he has seen the Father. I tell you the truth, he who believes has everlasting life. I am the bread of life. John 6:46-48
