It was Hazelnut flavoured (I think) and was really nice. I haven't seen any in years but I still remember it. Hello Scotland you ROCK!

Felixtowe,

I have been wondering exactly the same thing for about 4 years. I drank enough of the stuff in Mull about 4 years ago to kill a large hippo, it is delicious. Have not seen it anywhere else, before or since! Deuchars is a very nice pint if you can find it and it is cellared properly.

It was a stout, brewed by Scottish & Newcastle breweries I believe. No connection with hazelnuts I'm afraid - just the usual malt and hops! Probably not brewed any more. I don't think S&N give a damn about anything other than Fosters and John Smith's nowadays.....
Oh, and it's certainly not brewed in Edinburgh any more - they closed the brewery....
