I met this girl online who gave me her number, only when I called it there was an older guys voice on her machine. I thought it might be her dad (which it turned out to be) but I thought more than likely it was a blow off and sent her an email basically telling her I wanted HER number and insulted her intelligence (blonde) and told her to take care like I was not going to be talking to her anymore.
Well she replied back and told me she lives with her dad.
I feel like an idiot. What the hell was I thinking!?!? I don't even know where to begin with this one. Suggestions?

I didn't insult her that much, she knows I joke around like that alot.
I still messed up big time, It is going to be hard to play this one off...lol

You either blew it or you didn't. (Probably not--but I don't know how bad that email really was.) Since it was a misunderstanding, she might get past it. Email her and call her again. I would try to make your mistake as small a deal as you can. Apologize quickly and change the subject, or don't bring it up and try to have a good conversation on something else.
Don't wait too long though--I think you'd be more likely to blow this by waiting days to come up with a perfect apology than you would be by calling her and making a stupid one. Just say it was a misunderstanding--you thought she was blowing you off and it upset you--cause you like her and thought you two were starting to make a connection. Make her see what you were thinking when you sent that email, and she'll understand.

Call back, email her...I mean don't make yourself sound desperate BUT, at least show that you care that you made an *** of yourself on her fathers answering machine. That means a lot to a female. She may hold it against you but being that we think way more than we should she will most likely keep thinking about your apology and its sincerity and possibly give you a call/email back. Just tell her the truth, tell her the real reason why you did what you did and what not.
BUT, now you have to be careful because you may have said somethings that hurt her feelings. So for a little while you may need to be more sensitive to her feelings than usual because you may have bruised them.
Although guys don't like to seem sensitive, sometimes it doesn't hurt to be nice.

well first of all you got to learn not to jump to conclusions in situations like that a girl never likes when a guy gets like that because than she may not be interested she might automatically assume youre an a** and to controling before the first date definite turn off. My suggestion be a man and let this girl know how sorry you are it dosent hurt to say im sorry with a flower or nice card or even email, explainn what you did was wrong and it wont happen again and that you want to start fresh.

Get over it and move on. She has probably already made up an impression of who she thinks you are, and from this it sounds like a guy that jumps to conclusions too quickly, plus you insulted her 'intelligence' so she is most likely going to remember that as well.
If you still want to have contact with her, then swallow your pride and tell her you were an a**. Maybe she'll give you a second chance if she cares enough to.

O-k, Well its true you messed up and jumped to conclusions but mistakes happen.If I was you I would just tell her that you have liked a couple other girls in the past who lied to you and hide the fact that they both had live in boyfriends so when you heard the male voice on the machine it just triggered a bit of de-ja-vu with you and you though maybe you were getting stooped again.Tell her this and apoligize to no end and hope for the best of understanding.

You have learned a valuable lesson. By all means apologize to her. Next, identify as to why you mistrust others so easily. Have you been burnt a lot? You need to heal your past wounds and trust others. What we say, think and do to others and about others reflects much about us and really nothing about them. In fact, people show us who we are by how we think, feel and interact. Get a grip. Clean out your baggage. It was a great lesson. Look at this as a time to grow and learn and be done with it. Good for you, you are a man that owns what he does. We need more good men like you in the world! Life is a lesson, we constantly learn and improve upon ourselves.

Yep, not to bright. Well at least you have learned not to jump to conclusions. Apologize for the mistake and insulting her. If you want to talk to her again, add that in and leave it up to her. At this point the direction of this friendship is up to her. If you really really want a chance with her, send the apology and asking for a second chance in a card with some flowers.

You should feel like an idiot, you should of found out information before you insulted her. Well I guess you can apologize to her, but I drought it will help, and if that don't work I would keep looking, because you lost this one.

If you still want to try to date her, you're going to have to admit that you thought she gave you a bogus number, and so you acted like a jerk (and if it ever happens again, she can club you to death with her shoe). Try to be as apologetic and charming as possible.
OBTW: if you ever do get a bogus number, don't leave a message when you call. A total stranger will think you're a jerk for no reason...

Since she replied back, she obviously was interested in meeting you and not too much insulted.
Just call her again, apologize, and make sure you bring nice flowers the first time you meet her!!!
