Have dinner with the old friend, it's a sure thing and you'll know who you're with. Night clubs are for new things and new people and you never know what's going to happen, it could be a fight or worse.

this sounds to simple have dinner with the old friend and invite the new friend to join you both to go to a night club, your birthday you may have an entourage. happy birthday
