A sense that you know more than you can remember.

A desire to be loved and safe while feeling terrified of damnation.

A preference for belonging to a group over a desire to think for yourself.

Guilt that someone allegedly died for you, even if you're not sure why he had to or what you can do to make it better.

Guilt for anything you've done wrong and an easy way to get rid of it without actually making amends with anyone you hurt.

A need to depend on supernatural beings more than on yourself or on real people.

That'll get you started.

First I would suggest finding a church that you enjoy going to. There are all different kinds, please dont let someone lead you astray and tell you all churches are the same. Go around to different ones and see which ones you like. Some services are rigid and done step by step following a pre-made plan, and some services are very free and go wherever the spirit is taking them. Some churches have strict dress codes, some have basically none. Some churches are huge with hundreds or thousands of members, some churches are small storefront churches with a handful of members. Find whichever one u enjoy going to and tell them that you're looking to accept Jesus as your savior. They'll help you out. Basically all you have to do is say that Jesus is the son of god and that he died on the cross to save you from your sins and believe this in your heart to be saved. But lots of people do that and go right back to their sinful ways, especially if they have no idea who jesus is and was and what he did. A purpose of a church is to teach you about Jesus and what he did for you and how you can use his example to be a good person and to be saved. Anyway, in conclusion i would say find a church and they can help you out. I hope I helped you and I'm glad that you are interested in becoming a christian. The people on here that tried to lead u astray and are telling you that Jesus isnt real are just allowing the devil to let them take you off of this very important path. Don't listen to them, you're doing the right thing. Jesus loves you and so do I.

You must admit you believe in Him, and He did all the works He is accredited with, believe He healed the sick, raised the dead, made the blind to see, cured the leper and that he was born of woman, the Son of God, spread the gospel, was crucified, died, and arose on the third day so we could be forgiven of our sins. If you go to a church with a good congregation and pastor, they will gladly show you the way. You MUST be saved to enter the Kingdom of Heaven, but not necessarily baptized.

The best one to tell you is the Bible:Romans 10:8 "...the word of faith which we are preaching, 9 that if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved; 10 for with the heart a person believes, resulting in righteousness, and with the mouth he confesses, resulting in salvation. 11 For the Scripture says, "WHOEVER BELIEVES IN HIM WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED."

The Church in your area, where you can join a Bible study, or the TV shows if you are unable to get out, the 700 Club is the best one that I know of. God bless you.

Call on Him to forgive you of your sins and confess that you are a sinner. Repent of those sins and read and study Gods Word every day. Accept Him as your personal Lord and savior and do your best to please Him in your walk with Him. Above all, pray every day for guideness and help through the Holy Spirit, and He will hear you. Christ will never leave you or reject you. You may leave Him, but He will not leave you. If you need more help please let me know.

Dude. I am totally phsyched that you asked. There's no right or wrong way to ask God to save your life and breathe newness into you--no fancy words or special posture or anthing like that--however, God let us know in his Word what needs to be there.

First of all, we have to realize that we are sinners. You might have heard the scripture, "For all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God" (Romans 3:23). Some people are sick of hearing it. However, it's no less true. God is perfect, and He is amazing. You've probably heard the song "Amazing Grace" (yeah, probably, haha.) in one line it says "Amazing Grace, how sweet the sound, that saved a wretch like me!"
That's about what we are. We fail God every day by our sin. If God determined our salvation by our works, we would be totally hosed. But God said, "You know what, these people can't be perfect. But I can cleanse them to make them white as snow." (Isaiah 1:18-- that's where I got the "white as snow" from) And the way he did that is to take our sins and place them on the back of His Son. (Mark 10:45)
We have to realize that, apart from him, we are totally screwed.

But He gave us life by sending an ambassador, his Son, the Christ to die an extremely painful and humiliated death, so that we can live, and live to the full (John 10:10).
That's where we are, man. And you are blessed to know that you need to accept Him. I didn't really know for a long time that I really *needed* Him. But we do.
So, to condense this huge answer I've given...
1. Realize that we are all sinners, and not worthy of God's grace
2. Realize that though that's true, God extends that grace to us
3. Accept that grace.

Sometimes it's tough to pray, but really all you have to do is say what you're thinking, either out loud, or in your head. You don't have to use this exact prayer, but this is what I said:
"God, I'm sick of being dirty. I'm sick of being a sinner. I need You to forgive me, and make me Yours. I want to be Yours, and be purified by You. Please forgive me. Amen."

Amen means "so be it." When you pray that, and really mean it through your whole being, it's for life. I would humbly encourage you to find some others that are now your brothers and sisters-- joined into one family by a common undertanding of grace. In other words, yeah, a church. I don't even know-- you might have a family that goes to church, or you may be ashamed to be associated with some of the decieved hypocrites that populate some churches (I apologize for their sake if someone like that has hurt you). But being with other Christians will really help you to stay accountable to yourself and to Christ.
I'm so sorry my answer was so long. I'll be praying for you, and I'll see you on the other side. Thanks for even reading. =)

1. I must realize that in my present condition I am a sinner bfore God. "All have sinned and come short of the glory of God (Romans 3.23.)
2. I cannot save myself from eternal punishment in hell "For the wages of sin is death: but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord: (Romans 6:23)
3. Christ has paid for my sins and my punishment with His death on the cross. "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him (Jesus should not perish, but have everlasting life: "(John 3:16)
4. I must accept His crucififixion as payment for my sins, personally. "For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved" (Romans 10:13)
If you would like to have assurance of eternal life, then pray this prayer: "Lord, I know I am a sinner. I believe Your Son, Jesus Christ, died on the cross for my sins. Please forgive me of my sins and make me a new person. I commit my life to you today. Amen,"
If you prayed this prayer you can send for Dr. Stanley's booklet, "The Only Door to Heaven." www.intouch.org.
When you are saved, you are sealed with God's Holy Spirit for eternity. You cannot loose your salvation because you are now adopted into the family of God.
It is important to find a bible teaching church and become part of the body of Christ to help you grow in your walk with the Lord. Read the Bible daily. You will find it easier to understand if you read it with a daily devotional magagine such as The Daily Bread or In Touch by Dr. Charles Stanley, which is on line at the above web site. Set at time aside daily to talk to God in prayer. Your prayers should include 1. Affirmation of God's character, confession, thanksgiving and supplication. (ACTS). If your church is a bible teaching church, they should practice believers baptism. You should be baptized out of obedience to Christ, but it is not required before salvation, but should be done after you become a believer. Welcome to the family of God. God Bless you in your walk with Him.
