Stretch marks once obtained will never completely go away with creams or topical solutions, they will only lessen the appearance of them. Cosmetic surgery is the way to go to completely get
rid of them.

Let me start by saying that if you aren't just losing weight from diet and you are exercising and gaining muscle it makes a huge difference. Your skin will tighten up with time and your stretch marks will fade. I have seen it happen to a lot of people at the gym who have lost loads of weight...but people who just diet don't have the same results. Some of it is genetics...you either have tighter more elastic skin or you don't. I know people that swear by Palmer's Cocoa Butter to help stretch marks after pregnancy and I would assume it would help with stretch marks after weight loss. Surgery should be seen as a last resort. It is invasive and very expensive. Don't worry about that right now because you might not need it. You should keep hydrated, drink loads of water, eat extremely healthy and work out. You will find that the majority of the problem will go away with time because your excess skin does come back a bit...like an elastic. You may be one of the unfortunate people that have too much excess skin and than you can look to surgery, but don't assume you will have to go under the knife. From what I understand, it can cost between $10,000 - $20,000 depending on how much excess skin you have. Cosmetic surgery isn't inexpensive and you it is risky. And yes...ultimately they remove the excess skin.

I would try a skin lotion rich in vitamin E first before you try cosmetic surgery. Cosmetic surgery sometimes may leave a scar worse than your stretch marks themselves. Just apply the lotion well two times a day, and you will see some fading in the stretch marks after a while. It is cheaper than surgery and not painful.

Good luck!

Since this is in the camera section:

Consider using a low sharpening mode and a light diffuser to minimize the visual clarity of the stretch marks. You might also want to play with some post processing- like using the healing brush feature in Photoshop elements.

What exactly do stretch marks have in common with cameras, possibly aperture, no, cause that can be adjusted.
