I'm sure many people have had the experience of having a milkshake or another frozen drink, not being able to drink it at the time, and having to put it in the freezer for later. So, now that it's a block of creamy, sweet ice, how do you recommend I got about bringing it back to its original, frosty but edible state? Should I thaw it in the fridge or at room temperature? How long should it take to reach a straw-friendly consistency?

leave it in the frig for about 30 min -1 hour. If you leave it out at room temp, it will thaw too much and be watery.

Thawing it will only make it turn into a cold milky substance, without the added iciness to make it a shake. What I have done is taken it out of the fridge for about 15 minutes (just until it will dump out of the cup freely...it will still be in one piece), dump it in a blender, add a little milk and blend it until it becomes creamy again....restored milkshake!
