I'm traveling to NYC with my 4 year old son, do I need to bring his booster seat for riding in cabs?

While a booster seat would certainly be best, you likely won't want to carry it around with you. If you place your son in the middle of the back seat with the lap belt on, he should be OK. A taxi in NYC shouldn't be exceeding about 40 mph. If you are arranging transportation in from the airport, call a car service. They will be about the same price as a cab, and have a nicer vehicle. They may even meet your flight and help with the luggage. If you ask them, they can send a booster seat with the driver for the ride into (and back from) the city. Another source of info is your hotel concierge. He may know a cabbie who carries a booster and could arrange for him to pick you up at the hotel.

It'd be best if you do.

A lot of states do NOT require seatbelts for taxi passengers. I know CA doesn't require that. HOWEVER, it's the first thing accident lawyers ask if you do get into one. Have him carry it as a part of his backpack, perhaps? After all, it is YOUR son we're talking about. Only the best will do, right?

booster seats are best however in the states no one even puts their kid in a seatbelt (stupid bitches) so I don't know.

why not call a taxi place there and ask?

i think it's best to take the booster seat...but its up to you....

No dont worry about it since you will be sitting in the back of the car with ur son you can ethier hold onto him or just buckle him in a seat belt and you will be right there with him.
