I agree with Irish Eyes...I would also think that one reason is that the eye does have a tendency to wander, well it did with my uncle who is blind, and the glasses will help by not distracting the person they are conversing with.

They don't need to wear glasses at all. They do it because some blindness makes your eye muscles weak which causes the eyes to circle around. That freaks some people out, so to avoid bad remarks, they wear black glasses.

they don't. Some people that are blind get a lot of glare from the sun. Most people that are blind are not totally black blind. They usually see light or shapes.

They don't hvae to. It's ussually because if you look into a blids person's eyes, it looks funny so they do it to avoid freaking others out. also because the light reflection hurts them a bit too because they percieve it in a different way than those who do see.

If they can't see the sun, they are still susceptible to eye-damage from it .

mayeb not to bother bypassers, because they eyes are stared at one point, and it might cause someones discomfort.
