For serious burns NEVER put cold water. Even cool water isnt advisable. You should purchase a good burn cream and keep it around the house. You can get it at any pharmacy, like at walmart or cvs, etc. I burned my hand once so badly I couldnt sleep for two days. All you can do is dress it with the burn cream/gel. Also, dont put anything greasy like antibiotic ointment on a burn. This will hold the heat in and make matters worse. When it begins to calm you can try to put cocoa butter on it. Also, if you can get an aloe leaf/plant and take out the gel it will make a good ointment. If a small blister forms just keep it protected. The fluid will reabsorb. If a big one forms you may have to gently pop the base with a sterile pin and slowly push out the fluid. Go to a doctor if you have any trouble. Because you have dark skin the discoloration will take a while to go away but if you use the aloe and cocoa butter it will hardly be noticible in a couple months.

Running the burn under cold water immediately, I am sure, has helped a lot. It is good to leave superficial burns to heal naturally, however, products used for sunburn remedy can help. The idea is to keep the burnt area with enough moisture that it won't dry out to the point that the skin will dry out too quickly and crack. Take note, however, that second and third degree burns should best be treated by the medically astute.

ok i used to work in a burn unit when i was stationed in texas the best thing that i have found for burns such as yours is antibiotic spray or what is called dermoplast. what it will do is numb the area and will do its magic and help heal the burn at the same time. also what you could do is use aloe gel which you can buy at any store or from a plant and wrap it. only wrap it with the aloe on a few days after do to the fact that you want the burn to stop burning. use the dermoplast at first and then use the aloe

Yellow mustard will take away the burn. I work in fast food. As for the healing is the skin broken, if so then don't use the mustard but try antibiotic ointment. It will help in preventing scarring, the pigment of the burn will fade with time.

If you have an aloe vera plant, break of one of the stems and apply the liquid inside to the burn. If you don't have a plant, go to the store and buy aloe vera gel. I put it in the refrigerator and when it is cool it feels really good on a burn.

good work with the cold water. Usually I follow up by applying
Bacitracin ointment on the burn and covering with band-aid.

well, When I get burned I take a raw potato, and cut some of the potato off, then i place it on the burn itself...you should leave it on for as long as you can...it actually draws the heat out and helps soothe the pain. it may be sore, but it won't hurt as much as it did.

aloe vera is a cooling, soothing home treatment for minor burns.
I've used the aloe leaf for minor burns and skin irritations at home and at work for many years.
