The only gambiling in NYC is run by the State.
The Lottery and Off Track Betting (OTB).
you have to go to Atlantic City, NJ and Foxwoods or Mohegan Sun in Connecticut to find slot machines. each about 2 hours away from NYC.

No gambling in NYC - the nearest casinos are in Monticello (Sullivan County - about 90 minutes away) Connecicut on the Native American Reservations (again about 2 hours away) or Atlantic City.

No casinos in NY. New Yorkers go to Atlantic City (Which sucks) or Connecticut (Foxwoods, Mohegan Sun) to gamble. You don't have to be a member of any of those casinos.

The closest place is Yonkers Raceway. Horses and slots.

I do not even live in NY and I know there are slots. Complete idiots. Pay attention next time.

atlantic city is a nice daytrip from new york. lots of casinos and it's near the ocean, right on the jersey shore. you'll love it. just don't stray too far from the boardwalk as some of the neighborhoods can get pretty rough. hope you have a great trip!
