It *must* be pronounced like a "w"!

I wasn't sure either but my Spanish teacher is giving extra credit to find one! We have to put it on our quiz Tuesday. Surely it isn't a trick question?

I have never heard of any Spanish word that begins with a q but is pronounced as a w.

there is no word that begins with a q

and is pronounced like a w.

Not in Spanish and yes, I am absolutely sure.

No leidy101 because you don´t pronounce the "u" you say

ke so = queso

twirling maybe your teacher doesn´t speak Spanish properly.

that effect will only occur if the word is mispronounced. Ussually q's are followed by vowels, most commonly the U which is silent and then followed by another vowel. like in QUESO. if you pronounce the U it'll sound like if there's a w after it.

maybe is "cual", but it doesn't start with q
in spanish when you use q, you must put "qu", and an "e" or an "i", you only can say: que or qui (by example: quedar, quizás), and it's always pronounce like "ke" or "ki", NEVER like a w.
I think is a trick...
