I have the flu, and not the friendly version either. This morning it triggered an asthma attack, and it is turning into bronchitis.

But one thing is, my body temperature keeps dropping, and big too. This morning (around 6:30 am Eastern) my temperature was at 97.6. Currently (12:10 pm Eastern) it dropped to 96.2. It just keeps dropping and dropping.

Is this safe?

The heat in my place is sweating out everyone else I have it so hot.

What is going on?

Doctor not really an option. New insurance does not kick in until the end of the month.

My body temperture drops sometimes. I'm normally 97.3, I don't remember the lowest it has gotten. If a doctor isn't an optition, take a bath, drink lots of fluids & sleep as much as possible& have some soup. Heat your bed up with hot blankets from the dryer. I'm not a doctor, but this is what I do when I am sick. I hope you feel better soon.

Is your normal temp at 98.6? Not everybody's is. If it is then I don't know of anything that will raise a temp. Lots of heat maybe but I doubt it. If you think you have other diseases, ex: bronchitis, then you should give in and go to a doc. Your body spikes fever to burn out the illness. If yours is dropping you need to go. Tell them there is no insurance till whenever. They can probably give you samples till you get the insurance kicked in. You really need to go though. Hope you feel better. I'm a tight wad and also have no ins. But I think if my temp went much lower I would go and cry broke. It works. It's degrading but it works.

Bronchitis is an infection in your lungs that needs to be treated with anitbiotics. Call your Doctor to see what they want you to do. They will either have you come to the office, go to urgent care or the er. A dropping body temp is not normal and having the flu with it is even worse.

I'm not sure if your temp is safe or not. The best way to find out if it is safe or not AND to find out just what is wrong with you is to to go a doctor as soon as possible. Aren't you curious as to what the problem is? Even if it's something not so terrible like the flu, don't you want to find out and put your mind at ease? Go see a nice doctor.

What is your "normal" body temp? Mine is 97.3 If 96.2 is more than 2 degrees below your normal, call your docs office and talk to a nurse. Give all your symptoms and let her/him decide if you need to see the doc. Make sure you are drinking plenty of clear liquids, meaning no caffine and no milk, and layer your clothing loose and warm.

You really need the advice of a doctor. Put plenty of layers on and try to get your body heat up, use a hot water bottle, drink plenty of warm drinks and call the surgery.
