Continue going to the gym and building muscle, but be careful not to focus only on your arms and stomach. Place your focus on total body workouts and strength building. Make sure you are doing cardio, running, cycling, swimming, etc. Do this 3-4 days a week at least 30 minutes a session and combine that with healthy eating and you should be able to make your goal. Do not "diet", make a change in eating that is healthy and that you can live the rest of your life with. Dieting is often healthy and too much for people to do. You may also focus on eating more often throughout the day (5-times), this will keep your metabolism up. Do not increas your overall intake, but divide what you already eat into 5 meals instead of three. Also, drink lots of water.

Stick with it and be careful and you can make 25lbs (assuming you are heavy enough to really be able/need to lose 25 lbs)

Actual answer here:

You are asking for a lot from your body. That's about 3 pounds a week. It seems like you are in a good habit of going to the gym. Are you just lifting weights, or are you going for cardio as well? You should be doing both.

Start now to calculate how many calories you eat now, and how many you burn through cardio. The key to losing weight is to cut the calories consumed and increase the amount burned. If you total 500 calories a day (fewer eaten + additional burned), you will lose a pound a week. Things get tricky as you lose weight, as your metabolism changes and you burn fewer calories with living and activity -and- if the calories consumed is too few for your activity level, your body will go into starvation mode and you will not lose weight (and risk damaging your health).

At 21, the best thing you can do is establish healthy habits. I added the link to the diet site I've been using (you need to register, but it is free), where you can get more information and actual, real support.

Many people on here will probably tell it is not possible, I however think that it is.

It depends on what it is you're doing at the Gym...

I have friends that have lost a significant amount of weight by increasing their water intake and walking a lot more than they are used to.

More Water + More Walking - Unhealthy food = Weight Loss
This is something a friend explained to me.

The more water you drink, the more toxins will be removed from your body. The more you walk the more calories you will burn.. producing energy which in turn helps you lose weight.
Be careful with what you eat. If you are serious about losing all that weight, then sacrifices will have to be made.

Good Luck! It can be done!

Do some work with weights for the upper arm thing, not big ones, like 10 lbs each, walk, w/ the weights and up and down them at the elbow, one at a time....flabby tummy, the old tried and true crunch ups have worked for me....
I am not a doc but I do know that once you start to lose weight, the exercise part will work faster...here is the part that is gonna make you say ....huh?...But, it sure worked for me, I used to take a swig of cider viniger after eating, I know it sounds horrible but it works...apparently it pre-giests your food before it hits your small intestine to the point wheere the calories are not absorbable, I am not saying it is the safest thing to do, just that it works...or at least it did for me...I was about 21 when I did it, I lost about 30 lbs. in about 2 months, for real....I also took iodine pills, you can get em at any drug store...again not safest thing but will work.. good luck...don't do this as a way of life, just to get down by march...good luck to ya...hope it helps!!!

It sounds like you want to lose 25 pounds in the next 50 days. It is possible, but very unhealthy and may cause severe and long-term detriment to your health. Slow and steady wins the race when it comes to weight loss.

I realized you have something to do or some place to go in early March, but you should have made the plans to lose the weight earlier, that way you would not be in the boat you are in now.

Trust me when I tell you I know about the battle. I am over 300 and I go to the gym regularly and am trying hard to get where I need to be.

Have a certified trainer design an exercise and diet plan for you.

I personally go to the gym myself, but I never go inside!
Sorry, that was a joke. My point was that switching the quality of your exercises around will help a lot. I used to do a lot of resistance and 20-30 minutes of aerobics at the beginning, about as frequently as you do.
I got stronger, but my body didn't change

Then a trainer (worth every penny for the consultation) pointed out I had to put in more aerobics, starting at 40 minutes and up. Then she said my diet should be tightened up a bit, doing that 5-6 meals a day thing.
(tummy fat , especially for us men, tends to stick around when the diet is haphazard)

Whaddya know, my bodyfat dropped off after two months of following the plan. I still follow it to this day as a lifestyle, and am still in good shape.

You already have the discipline to go work out regularly, and that's great.
You're on the right track, just find the right direction.

You can't lose weight by just spot training trouble areas alone. If you are already going to the gym two times a day. You should make one of the owrkouts striclty cardio. Althought you are building muscles in the areas that you mentioned they will never show if you got alayer of fat on top. Also reduce your portions when you eat. Make sure your aren't wasting your calories on things like soda, ice tea, juice. Fruits, veggies, meats, even carbs are okay in moderation. Yes atkins works but can you really imagine living the rest of your life without ever eating a bowl of oasta, rice, bread, cookies or cake.

The average weight loss is about 2.5 pounds a week so just take it slow. Rapid weight loss can lead to you putting the weight back on and more. I once lost 40 pounds in 10 weeks (2 1/2 months). I gained it all back. The second time around I was more sucessful and have managed to keep it off. I'm 5'7' and weigh a healthy 140 pounds.

Find a "support system" or group. You, can with enough work and self-determination, of course, reach your goals on your own, but why would you want to? It's not fun that way.

on the other hand, if you would like to reach your goals, and have some help along the way, experience has shown that it's better to have a strong, positive support team that will help you get there.
