We ought to be, one would think. I'm fairly content with death, though.
I mean, I don't want it to hit me right away, but it's going to happen, and I can't stop it. Even if I could, I don't know that I'd want to live 800 years or more. But everyone dies, and I realize that. It's a lesson I learned as a child, and it never left me.
Very few people look forward to death. Those that do look forward to it probably have already taken the steps to hasten its approach. So, people cope with death as best they can.
Some people turn to religion to cope with death. After all, death is a lot less scary when you believe that it's not the end.
In the end, it depends on the person and not the belief. Some people are absolutely terrified of death, believers and nonbelievers alike. Others have accepted it as a part of life. I don't relish dying, but I'm afraid of it. I'm more afraid of leaving behind pain for some people. That cannot be helped.

I think that some religious people are religious *because* they are afraid of death and cannot accept it. As an atheist, I have no illusions, and can accept that death is the end, no afterlife, no heaven or hell. I have seen Christians post here questions like "If there is no afterlife, what is the purpose of living?" It's sad, because I believe that life itself is a gift, and to expect anything beyond would be wishful thinking.

Religious people are more afraid of Death. If not, why would they spend so much time talking and worrying about it.

Definitely not! They only believe that death means they cease to exist. Christians believe that they go on to a better place. Or they are afraid that they will go to Hell for not following their God's word. I would say that shows fear on the part of Christians but none on the part of Atheists.

No, why would you think that? We don't worry about our fate after we are dead, religious people do. As a well spent day brings happy sleep, so a life well lived brings happy death.

just like morality is separate from religion. Fear and death are also different. Fear and courage are things of the world. Death is just that: no more existence.

If they are more afraid of death then it could be argued that they more appreciate life.

Ramen, Rev. Kev, I don't look forward to death. But I don't fear the end as much as the means by which I come to it. Savvy?

Why be afraid of death? It's just a part of life. You don't exist, you're born, you live, you die, you don't exist.
Nice and symmetric.
