At least 99.9% of all planets and moons are completely inhospitable to life.

And even on Earth (a planet that can support life) hurricanes, tsunamis, earthquakes, volcanos, tornados and the such constantly wreak havok with that life.

Meanwhile diseases such as cancer are rampant in life forms, significantly shortening the life spans of the more evolved life forms.

The work of a "god" ?

Hardly!

Please allow me to address a couple different points you make.

First, in general, the Bible says that when God made all things, he said that they were "good." We take this to mean "perfect," just as God is. From that standpoint, no one - even God - could have done a better job.

Second, concerning your first comment, the fact that most of the universe is inhospitable to life is irrelevant. God made earth as the home for the crown of his creation, mankind. Actually, the fact that there are so few places in the universe that could even support life as we know it is evidence that God intended earth as our home. (I know it doesn't prove it, it just supports it.) When the church condemned early astronomers for saying the earth revolved around the sun, they were misguided, but they were basing it on the truth that God did focus his creation on the earth. The rest was created for us.

Third, concerning problems in the world, following God's perfect creation of the world, mankind fell into sin through the tempation of the devil. With this sin came earthly consequences. Adam is told that the earth will only be fruitful with hard labor. Eve is told that childbirth will be painful. We are not told what life would be like for us if there were no sin, but if there were no hard labor, and no pain in childbirth, it would certainly be much easier. In addition, it seems like these were merely representative of all the consequences that would befall mankind. Because of sin, our genetic material is not perfectly passed down, but rather mutates from generation to generation, a sign that we are not evolving, but actually devolving because of sin.

We could speculate all day about what life would be like without sin in the world. But God promises to show us first hand and allow us to experience it for eternity. Jesus has died and risen to pay for all sin. Trust that he has saved you. There is nothing that God wants more than for all to believe in him and be saved.

Well, as the story goes, all was really perfect in the beginning until the woman came on the scene. Never forget that if you are a guy. All was very well until she stepped in and helped screw it all up. That's all some women are good for. They just screw things up.

Adam had been in the garden for a long time man and had had no problems. But after the woman showed up, the guy was evicted from the garden -- and I suspect that it was on the same week that she came. Men are better than women at loyalty. Some women are nothing but screw-ups. So watch ya back.

Oh, and just so that you know, yeah, one screwed me over too -- but I'm ok now. I just don't trust these little devils any more.

Hurricanes, tsunamis, earthquakes, volcanoes, tornados, and any other natural disasters are just that..natural. They are all the natural order of things, and have a natural scientific explanation.
As for cancer and all the other diseases that afflict us, there are scientific reasons and explanations for them also. But,I'm tired of hearing the faulty and illogical so-called arguments against God. None of these things prove there is no God. My Mother had cancer in 1990 and in 2000,and she survived both . She now has liver cancer, and her docs told her she only has 3-4 months left to live. She also has CHF,which is why the docs couldn't remove the cancer from her liver. She wouldn't have survived the operation. The chemo is and continues to be unsuccessful, though it is possible that it could add a few more months to her life. I do not write much about my personal life, but I am telling you this for one reason and one reason only. My Mom is suffering unbelievably, but she has not lost her faith or her belief in God. She does not ask why or why her, even though she has been a faithful Child of God for over 26 years. Her life and her faith, even in this time of almost unbearable pain and suffering,is a great testimony to God,and people like you sicken me with your words of ignorance.God DOES NOT cause the suffering in this world, but He IS with us to get us through it. Wether you believe it or not doesn't change it as a fact.
In summary, all I have to say is that there are millions of people around the world who have lived through natural disasters and who have survived ,sometimes againt all odds, illnesses and such, but THEY have not lost their faith and belief in God,even though they may have lost all personal belongings and perhaps loved ones. They don't blame God. They thank God for getting them through their hard times. Who are you,or anyone else,to mock and fault them for that ? We have legitimate reasons for believing in God,so if you,and everyone else here who mocks us,has any decency left in your bodies, you will at least try to understand where we are coming from, and leave us to our beliefs instead of putting us down for them. In my mind,it takes a lot more strength of character to still believe in God after going through something like this than it does to just say He doesn't exist period. In other words, the strong believe in God,the weak don't.

Someday we will be able to see the earth and universe as it was suppose to be before sin entered the picture. As far as cancer and diseases I believe them to be man made with all the chemicals and such things we use.

Well, I quess God should have called upon your wisdom to do a better job of it, huh?
Ask your local scientist: he will tell you that for every single thing in nature, there must be a balance. For every thing that happens, there is another happening - a consequence or an effect.
Diseases?? God tells you of His health laws. People choose to ignore them. They don't farm the way he suggests, they don't eat the way he suggests, they drink wine in excess, they fill themselves full of drugs (yeah, the legal ones too), etc etc.
Why in the world would you blame God for that? Blame the culprit. Man. Intellegent, all knowing man. Leave it him to really screw things up.

You've made the classic incorrect assumption of what was on God's mind when he created the Universe. If God wanted to create a perfect Universe from the get-go, He surely could have. But there is a problem with perfection...no growth potential. It is obvious that God wants the pinnacle of His Creation, Man, to grow beyond his physical self. That can only be accomplished if there is the potential to grow spiritually and only if there are barriers to that growth.

The world God created WAS perfect. It wasn't until sin entered the world that we see all the negative aspects occur.

well, GOD KNOWS BETTER. SUPPOSE HE CREATED A PERFECT WORLD. WHAT WOULD WE DO? WE DONT NEED A GOD IN A PERFECT WORLD. SO WE WILL SHOW HIM THE WAY OUT. NOW, EVEN IT IS FOR CRITICIZING YOU TAKE THE NAME OF GOD, SOMETHING WHICH YOU WOULD VERY CONVINIENTLY FORGET IF YOU LIVED IN A PERFECT WORLD. THIS IS WHY GOD HAS LEFT HIS CREATION INCOMPLETE. SO THAT HE MAY NOT BE FORGOTTEN.WE CAN ALWAYS PRAY FOR A BETTER WORLD, CANT WE?

Your answer doesn't provide any basis to believe there is no God only that you think you could have done it better.

We were not created for this earth but for the kingdom of God. Our fleshly bodies are but a tent, camping out until we get Home to our final destination in Heaven. Of course we are not comfy here...we're not supposed to be here.
